About This Pub
Ah, Volunteer Riflemans Arms – what a lovely spot it is in Bath. From what I've gathered from folks who've popped in, it's all about that genuine pub feel, with friendly bar staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the locals adding to the fun with their chatty nature. The rock music sets a brilliant backdrop, and the beer selection is top-notch, always well-kept and with a good variety to choose from. It's ideal for a casual catch-up or if you're into that alternative scene, but do keep in mind it can get a bit snug if you're with a bigger group, so maybe best for smaller gatherings. On the flip side, if you're used to pints served a certain way, like super chilled, you might have a chuckle at the more traditional style here – it's all part of the charm, really. Overall, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a proper, down-to-earth pub experience without the fuss.

I would give this place more than 5 stars. Just go for 1 drink and you won't be disappointed, the bar staff and locals are very friendly. My wife and I went for a drink just to try and have been back a good few times and it Never disappoints. Trust me you won't regret it.
An alternative pub in the heart of Bath. If you're looking for an authentic British pub that plays rock music and is overflowing with locals from Bath, then this pub is the place to visit.
The patrons really made the visit to the pub enjoyable, as they were super welcoming and offered up lots of recommendations for the local area.
Thee pub had great ale selections, and the bar staff were attentive too.
Great little pub. Nice atmosphere and the beer is kept in really good condition. Not big enough to take a very large group but our group of seven fitted in well and we had a great time here. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely little pub. If you are into rock/alternative music definitely the place to go. I received two! complements on my Warhammer 40k jacket, one of which was from a staff member (possibly the landlord), so if you're a Warhammer fan, also a good place to go.
Good selection of beers on tap. Will serve jagerbombs at a push, but a bit DIY. £18 for a Peroni and two jagerbombs as bought as two Jager shots plus a can of Red Bull. Did the job however. Toilets are down a spiral staircase into the basement, not for the faint hearted.
Good atmosphere and good music, would definitely go again if in the area.
Just stopped in for a pint. Barman friendly. Seems like a lovely locals spot. I made the mistake of asking for a COLD beer! As much as I knew it was going to get a Kurt response! All in jest they seemed to understand and I settled for a Grolsch in the end. Can’t take the Texans outta me!
