About This Pub
Ah, the Vale Inn—it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its attractive vibe and a solid lineup of beers and ales that any ale enthusiast would appreciate. I love how they've got that mild on tap; it's a proper nod to traditional brews and always goes down a treat. The atmosphere is just right too, with a real fire crackling away, making it feel warm and inviting, especially on a chilly evening. The food's generally a winner, like those delicious pies that folks rave about, and the staff are dead nice, adding to that welcoming feel. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect—sometimes you'll find dogs sprawled out on the seats, which might not suit everyone, and you could end up waiting a fair while for your meal, which is a bit frustrating. Oh, and that smell from the kitchens can be a bit off-putting if it wafts through. As for the beer garden, it's got potential but needs a bit of tidying up; it's a shame it's so mossy right now. All in all, if you're after a relaxed spot for a pint and some grub, it's worth a visit, just keep those little niggles in mind for a balanced night out.

Lovely attractive pub with a good selection of cask ales and I was pleased to see a mild available which was excellent. A lot of the pub is taken up with diners. We weren't eating so went to sit in the smaller bar area. However, there were dogs on some of the seating so we sat on bar stools, had just the one drink and left. We really don't want to sit on seats that have had dogs on them. The pub obviously allow this as none of the staff made any attempt to ask for the dogs to be taken off the seating. That's their choice but it will certainly prevent us from visiting again.
A pleasant place with a real fire indoors — I would like it if they managed to do more with their beer garden though! It’s a bit mossy lol
Nice range of beers and ales. Oddly strong smell coming from the kitchens whenever that door to upstairs was opened so those extractors need sorting because it was a bit grim.
Lovely pub. Great food menu. Cosy and warm. Free on street parking
Great clean tasty beer. Lovely food and nice staff. It is highly recommended if you are nearby and want an awesome place to unwind.
We came here for some ale and dinner and were not disappointed. The pie was delicious and the ale was good. We would have liked some cheddar in the mac and cheese and some salt and pepper, that‘s the 1 missing star. Service is receiving 4 stars because we waited quite long for our food, it took about 45 minutes but the staff was very kind and attentive.
The dog friendliness is a huge plus!
