About This Pub

Ah, the Troll Cart in Great Yarmouth – it's one of those Wetherspoons spots that really delivers on the basics, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats, it's brilliant for grabbing a pint or a meal without spending a fortune, and if you're staying over, the rooms are surprisingly roomy and spotless, with all the little touches like tea and coffee that make you feel looked after. The staff often get a thumbs up for being helpful and getting things done quickly, and being slap bang in the town centre means you're never far from the buzz. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; service can be a tad unreliable sometimes, with orders getting muddled or taking longer than you'd like, and the place can feel a bit chaotic when it's packed, which might not suit everyone looking for a quiet night. Overall, it's a dependable choice for a good time on a budget, but it's worth going in with realistic expectations to enjoy the highs and navigate the lows.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a cracking spot for value for money, with affordable drinks, food, and even rooms that won't break the bank.
  • The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern, complete with tea, coffee, and biscuits – perfect for a comfy stay.
  • Staff are generally helpful and friendly, making you feel right at home with their quick service.
  • Great location right in the heart of Great Yarmouth, easy to get to and close to all the town action.
  • The atmosphere is lively and buzzing, with decent food that's spot on for a casual meal.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit patchy at times, like forgetting cutlery or drinks taking ages, which puts a dampener on things.
  • It can get quite crowded and rowdy, especially downstairs, so it's not always the most relaxed vibe.
  • Occasional mix-ups with orders, such as food arriving before drinks, might leave you scratching your head.

First time that we've stayed in a Wetherspoons hotel. I thought it was great. Big room with huge bed. Tea, coffee and biscuits. Really clean and modern, and the staff were really helpful. Can't fault it.

It's OK, the food was OK. The service was a bit poor. Forget our cutlery. we had to ask , we ordered drinks on the app and had to go bar after 20 minutes, and they were on the bar. Food came before the drinks! Should re name the place the tool cart because place was full of em! Wouldn't go back.

Just stayed at the troll cart and will definitely go back. Rooms were large and clean. Tea coffee hot chocolate biscuits and water in rooms and replenished the next day. Free tea and coffee all day from the bar just show room or.take your mug down. Great location right in thw town and next to bus station great stay

Great value, pleasant, clean and tidy. Usual ‘Spoons bar scene going on down stairs (which isn’t everyone’s bag). But it does a job very well, decent accommodation, food and pub right there. Suits me.

Very lively atmosphere with quick friendly service & very nice food. Toilets are located upstairs (lift available) & are quite luxurious. The whole place was spotless & staff were very quick at clearing tables.
