About This Pub
Ah, the Theatre Tavern – it's one of those classic British pubs that has bags of character, you know? From the reviews, it sounds like a cracking spot if you're in the mood for a chat with friendly faces over a pint or two, especially with those karaoke sessions that get everyone joining in. The beer is good and won't break the bank, which is always a win for a laid-back evening. On the flip side, though, it's not without its flaws; a few folks have mentioned it's a tad grubby, with sticky floors and the odd whiff that might make you wrinkle your nose. And let's be honest, the crowd can sometimes feel a bit cliquey, which might not be ideal if you're after a more inclusive vibe. Overall, if you're up for a no-nonsense pub experience with plenty of energy, it's worth a punt – just go in with your eyes open and you'll have a memorable time, but if you prefer somewhere a bit more polished, you might want to look elsewhere.

Cons
-
The place can feel a bit run-down, with sticky floors and some unpleasant smells that might spoil the experience.
-

-
It's not the tidiest spot, and the overall vibe might be too rough around the edges for those seeking something more refined.

I’ve been in some dog holes in my time, but this is the worst dive pub I’ve ever had the misfortune of finding myself in. It’s a crackhead’s dream. You stick to the floor, it smells of piss, the beer garden is a square that smells of the drains the pour into it, the cushioned seats have what I can only assume is piss and vomit stained into them, I think the speakers they bought are for a venue six times the size and there’s about three teeth spread around twenty people.
Great little pub. Staff and locals all friendly . We did not get food but during our weekend stay we called in several times for drinks
Old review I know but: How could someone not vote 5 stars for the only pub doing karaoke during the queens funeral 😂 it may have flaws due to being the cheapest pub but I respect it alot
Most lively pub I've ever been to
Very interesting experience - from the outside it seemed as though it was a “vibe”, oh how different when we went in!
The clientele was questionable, almost quite “territorial” and annoyed that we were there, few people were friendlier however still seemed to enjoy taking the piss, we managed to keep our mouths shut.
Drugs are clearly a fun fav here!
Drinks are cheap, which is a bonus I guess!
Called in while walking past and hearing the quality of the Karaoke singers, this was at 2pm. I left 8hrs later feeling that I had found a little gem. Everybody was very welcoming, the beer was good and reasonably priced. I had a lovely time.
