About This Pub

Ah, Uptown Bar – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt in Great Yarmouth, you know? From the reviews I've had a look at, it's got this genuinely welcoming atmosphere that draws you in right away, with everyone chatting and getting on famously. The staff really stand out; they're spot on with their service, making sure you're looked after without any fuss. And let's not forget the prices – they're spot on for keeping things affordable, so you can enjoy a few rounds without breaking the bank. That outdoor yard is a real highlight too, especially when the sun's out, turning a simple visit into something quite special. On the other hand, it's got that 'rough and ready' charm, which means it's not all fancy decor or high-end vibes – more of a no-nonsense spot that might not suit if you're after something a tad more refined. Plus, without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the lowdown beforehand. All in all, though, it's a cracking choice for a laid-back evening; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the little niggles, and it's clear folks keep coming back for the good times.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely welcoming and makes you feel right at home, with friendly faces all around.
  • Staff are brilliant and provide top-notch service, always ready with a smile and quick to help.
  • Drinks are really well-priced, making it a fantastic spot for a budget-friendly pint or night out.
  • The outdoor yard is a sun trap and wonderful before midday, perfect for enjoying a drink in the fresh air.
  • They've got good ale on offer, plus perks like free barbecues on certain days, adding a lovely touch to the experience.
Cons
  • It has a 'rough and ready' feel, which might not appeal if you're after something a bit more polished or upscale.
  • No website means it's not the easiest to check out menus or events online before heading over.
  • While recent reviews are glowing, the overall rating suggests there might be the odd off day or inconsistency based on past feedback.

Listen loud, I love a good pub. This one stands out loud and proud to me. No bar drama, no foolish behaviour. Welcoming patrons. The yard before midday is absolutely wonderful with the sun trap. Perks: drink is very well priced. Punters are brilliant, staff are amazing.
