About This Pub
Ah, Trigger Pond – it's one of those reliable pubs in Warrington that you can pop into for a bite or a pint and generally have a good time. From what I've gathered, the food really shines with hearty portions and classics done right, especially with tempting offers like 30% off mains that make it feel like a treat without breaking the bank. The staff often get high marks for being friendly and attentive, like that bar manager Ollie who's all about making sure everyone has a laugh. It's super family-friendly too, with easy access, parking, and even a spot for your furry mate, plus that pub garden is just the ticket for a sunny afternoon. On the flip side, it's a shame that service isn't always up to scratch; a couple of chats mentioned feeling a bit overlooked or like the food wasn't as freshly prepared as it could be, which might leave you wanting more. Overall, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together, but if you're after something flawless, it might pay to keep expectations in check – still, with a strong 4.3 rating from the crowd, I'd say it's worth a visit for the good vibes and great value.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, with generous portions and tasty pub classics that leave you feeling satisfied – plus, they've got deals like 30% off mains to make it even better value.
-
Staff are generally brilliant and welcoming, with some standout service from folks like Ollie, who's clearly passionate and helps make the whole experience enjoyable.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with loads of facilities like a large car park, baby-changing areas, and disabled access, so you can bring everyone along without a fuss.
-
They've got a lovely pub garden for soaking up the sun with drinks and snacks, and it's dog-friendly too, which is perfect for a relaxed day out.
-
There's always something going on, from events to games like darts, and their range of cask ales, lagers, and wines means there's a drink for every taste.
Cons
-
Service can sometimes fall short, with a few folks mentioning it felt a bit unwelcoming or lacking in warmth, which puts a damper on the vibe.
-
The food might not always feel freshly made – one comment suggested it came across as microwaved, making the overall experience a tad underwhelming.
-
While it's generally affordable, if you're after something a bit more polished or exciting, it might not quite hit the mark compared to other spots.

Not great service, felt unwanted
Food was okay, although it felt it was microwaved in
The overall dining experience was underwhelming due to the lackluster service. A sense of being unwelcome permeated the atmosphere, detracting from the meal. While the food was acceptable in terms of taste, its quality suggested perfunctory preparation. The reheated nature of the dishes raised concerns about freshness and culinary effort. This combination of factors resulted in a less than satisfactory visit.
“Ollie, the bar manager tonight, was an absolute legend! He made our night incredibly enjoyable with his fantastic management of the bar. It was also great to see how well he was training the new staff—professional, patient, and clearly passionate. We’ll definitely be coming back!”
What a lovely experience from start to finish. A table booked for 9 on a Saturday teatime. I had to change the time, the person I spoke to was amazing on the phone.
The staff taking the orders, were lovely! The food came out quickly, & was spot on, served by yet another lovely member of staff.
Fab food, fab service & amazing staff - thank you
Had a lovely afternoon lunch with my son taking advantage of the 30% off mains deal. And then had a couple games darts in the bar. Staff brilliant and food delicious
We haven't been to The Trigger Point since it changed management but you could taste the difference! The food was not only delicious, but the portions were really big. The food is definitely better than other pubs in the idea, which hadn't previously been the case for several years.
All staff were really friendly and chatty. Will definitely be back.
Only took photos of desserts I'm afraid!
