About This Pub

Ah, the Butchers Arms in Warrington – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its warm, buzzing energy, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the chats and reviews, it's a top spot for enjoying some flame-grilled favourites that hit the mark every time, and at prices that won't leave you out of pocket. I love how they make room for everyone, whether you're there for the big sports matches like the Women's Euros or just a relaxed pint with mates; it's got that community feel with events and amenities that keep things entertaining. The staff can be absolute gems too, stepping up to fix any minor issues with a friendly touch, which adds a nice personal touch. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – it does get packed to the rafters sometimes, and that can mean a wait for your table or dealing with a server who's not quite on their A-game. Still, with such a strong rating overall, I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after a solid night out; just keep in mind it might have a few off moments, but the good bits definitely shine through.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is spot on – good value and cooked just right, making it a brilliant choice for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
  • Staff can be really welcoming and attentive, like when they quickly sort out any little issues with a smile, which makes the visit feel personal and friendly.
  • It's got a lively atmosphere, especially with live sports events and things like tribute nights, so it's perfect for catching the game or enjoying a bit of entertainment.
  • Family-friendly vibes all around, with facilities like being dog-friendly and having a car park, making it easy to pop in with the whole crew.
Cons
  • It can get a bit chaotic when it's busy, leading to waits for tables even if you've booked, which might put a dampener on things.
  • Some of the staff don't always seem in the best mood, coming across as a tad miserable at times, which takes away from the overall experience.
  • There are occasional hiccups, like problems with new menus or service slip-ups, so it might not be flawless every visit.

Taken my mum to lunch here several times over the last few months and also my daughter today. Food is good value and cooked just right. Served with a smile. Great to see how popular this old haunt of mine is having frequented it over 40 years ago :)

Had a lovely time, Jussie was absolutely lovely and so polite to myself and the group I was with, service with a smile and so kind. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was great as a Freddie mercury tribute was on. Some staff came across as miserable and as if they did not want to be there, such a shame as it was a lovely pub

Lovely little pub, slight issue with the food as new menu launched yesterday. Vicky the manager swiftly sorted out the issue. Very friendly and attentive. Will be back to try the food again hopefully with no issues

So first of all it was mad busy which is a good sign for a pub but there was no one hosting as you can reserve tables I had to wait at the bar for 15 minutes just to find out where I am sat and had a table booked for 7pm (arrived at 6:45) We got shown to the table and there was someone already sat down and they didn’t move until 7:10pm which caused delays No sorry no nothing from the team The food was average and the only good thing about the pub was the atmosphere because rugby was being shown and it was packed

Myself, 4 adults and 2 children came for my Son's birthday after recommendation. All 7 different meals and desserts were lovely. The service from the staff was spot on! Thank you. We will visit again.
