About This Pub
Ah, the Trent Navigation Inn – what a lovely spot it is, tucked away in Nottingham. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this warm, historic charm that makes you feel right at home, especially if you're a fan of football or just fancy a cracking pint with friends. The beers are top-notch, with a great variety that keeps things interesting, and that loyalty card is a nice touch for regulars. Food-wise, the Sunday roasts come highly recommended – imagine tucking into a juicy lamb shank or beef without a hint of fat, paired with sides like cauliflower cheese; it's proper comfort food that hits the spot. And let's not forget The Big Shed, their live venue that's perfect for watching the big games on massive screens, with plenty of options for pizzas and pub lunches to keep you fuelled up. On the flip side, though, it can get a bit hectic when events are on, so if you're after a peaceful evening, you might want to pick your timing carefully. Overall, it's a brilliant place for a good laugh and some quality time, but just remember to check those opening hours to make sure it's all systems go. I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area – honest, balanced vibes from a mate who's heard the buzz!

They've got a fantastic selection of quality beers, ales, and craft options, plus perks like a loyalty card where you get the seventh beer free after six.
-
The food is spot on; think delicious Sunday roasts with tender lamb shank or topside beef, and don't miss the pizza nights with proper Italian-style bases for just £9.
-
Live sports are a highlight, shown on big screens in The Big Shed, making it a top spot for catching football, cricket, or rugby with mates.
-
Service is friendly and efficient, with staff always on hand to keep things running smoothly, even during busy events.
Cons
-
Opening times can be a bit unpredictable, varying with events, so it's worth checking ahead to avoid any disappointments.
-
It tends to get pretty packed during match days or big events, which might make it tricky to find a seat or enjoy a quiet chat.
-
If you're not into sports, the focus on live screenings and match-day vibes might make it feel a tad overwhelming at times.

Recent Reviews
Went here for a pint before Forest v Brentford- great atmosphere and nice beers. Almost like an extension to city ground gets crowd pumped before the match and just a short dander to the ground.
This review is bases on watching live sports. The venue is totally set up for live sport especially Forest matches. There is always plenty of friendly staff serving, so no lengthy waiting at the bar. Plenty of decent food options. Huge screen outside in the covered 'shed'. Always a fantastic friendly atmosphere. Top venue!
Amazing Sunday lunch at Trent Navigation today. Reasonable pricing and good service. Lamb shank was delicious. We will definitely be back
Sunday roast was great, would highly recommend the topside beef! Quality beef with no fat, I’d also suggest the cauliflower cheese as well. Service was easy
We went out to The Trent Navigation yesterday (30/12/24) for dinner and were greeted at the door by staff whilst deciding where to sit. After we were seated, we ordered drinks at the bar whilst the menus were dropped off at the table. As someone who isn’t drinking, the options available are very good; however, I didn’t rate the choice of San Miguel 0% - will choose something else next time! We ordered food at the table, which came out pretty quickly. I found the fish to be perfectly cooked, with the chips the right amount of crispy - just how I like it! The pie was delicious with the mash & mushy peas complimented by the gravy - although found towards the end of the pie, the meat could’ve done with a little bit more sauce/gravy to stop it from drying out a little. After finishing the lot (apart from a few chips I couldn’t finish), we were truly full. Staff couldn’t do enough for us, food was brilliant, and I really recommend a visit. Looking forward to trying their pizzas next time!
