About This Pub
Oh, The Big Shed – it's one of those places that really comes alive during events like the Ibizan Revival or watching the Lions tour, where the energy is infectious and you're swept up in the excitement. I love how they've got that massive screen for footie, and the beers are spot on, making it a go-to for a proper night out with mates. The staff are usually chuffed to help and keep things moving, which adds to the welcoming feel. But, fair's fair, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few grumbles about the food being a bit dear and not as generous as you'd hope, and there are times when the drink prices seem to change on a whim, which can be a bit of a letdown. Still, if you're up for a lively spot with a good crowd, it's worth a visit, just maybe plan ahead to dodge the queues and keep an eye on your wallet.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing, especially for live events and sports matches – it's a proper lively spot that gets you in the mood for a good time.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers and drinks, with options like Guinness on tap that really hit the spot.
-
The staff are generally welcoming and the service is pretty quick, making it feel like a friendly local haunt.
-
It's brilliant for football fans, with a massive screen and that covered area to keep you dry if the weather turns – ideal for pre or post-match gatherings.
Cons
-
The food portions are a bit on the skimpy side for the price, which can leave you feeling short-changed after a night out.
-
Staff sometimes seem a tad unsure about drink prices, leading to some confusion and frustration when you're trying to settle up.
-
Queues can get quite long, particularly before big events, so you might end up waiting around when you'd rather be enjoying yourself.

Went to the venue recently for the Bob Marley Revival Band,
Food was expensive and the staff didn't have a clue on drinks prices kept altering them
WON'T VISIT AGAIN
Went on the 4th May 2025 to see Bob Marley Revival,
The band came on at 5pm and were very good
but the food portions were very small for the price
And the staff in both bars kept putting the price of drinks up and down didn't have a clue !!!!!!.
I always go here before Forest matches, it's a great atmosphere and it's so popular that sometimes you have to queue, which is fine if you want to get into a lively place with good beers and entertainment.
What isn't good is when you've been queuing for 20 minutes and the bouncer on the gate on two separate occasions let's his mates in who haven't queued.
That just annoys people and loses you custom!
Great venue incredible atmosphere!!
Best place in nottm to watch the football.
Staff very welcoming. Fantastic beer. Looking forward to some great World Cup nights!
Great experience. Surely it’s got to be the best place for pre and post match drinks or even just to watch the games. Always a great atmosphere. Massive screen, quick service at the bars (inside or outside) and most importantly a roof to shelter under when it rains! This is the sort of place that’s been lacking in Nottingham for so long. Can’t wait to watch the WC there
