About This Pub

Ah, Tree Tops in Mapperley – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its promise of good times, especially if you're popping in for a bite after a stroll in the nearby park or to catch some live sport like the Women's Euros. From what I've gathered chatting about it, it's got that warm, family-friendly vibe going for it when everything clicks, with tasty chargrilled food and a decent drink selection that keeps things affordable and enjoyable. The facilities are pretty top-notch too, like the beer garden and WiFi, making it easy to settle in for a relaxed afternoon or evening. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – I've heard a few tales of service that's a tad underwhelming, where the team might not be as smiley or helpful as you'd like, and the food can be hit or miss, with some meals coming out greasy or not cooked properly, which is a real shame when you're looking forward to a proper pub grub. Overall, it's worth a go if you're in the area, especially for the sports action, but maybe keep your expectations in check and have a backup plan just in case – that way, you're set for a balanced night out without any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a cracking spot for families and mates to catch up, with a park nearby and plenty of space for everyone to relax.
  • The food hits the mark when it's good, offering tasty chargrilled options and a solid selection of drinks at fair prices.
  • They're spot on for sports enthusiasts, showing live events like the Women's Euros on big screens, making it a fun place to cheer on the teams.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit off sometimes, with staff not always as welcoming or attentive as you'd hope for a cosy pub evening.
  • Food quality isn't always reliable – some dishes turn out greasy, burnt, or even undercooked, which puts a damper on the meal.
  • The atmosphere might feel lacklustre on certain visits, with reports of it not living up to the usual pub charm we've come to expect.

Lovely family friendly pub, with a park close by, and really good for family and friends meeting where you can enjoy meals and drinks with friendly and very good service. Good selection of drinks and meals with competitive price and good quality.

Went here with my son, ordered X2 ribeye steaks, asked for medium rare, both was RAW still had a pulse, couldn't even cut through the meat, had the table rocking just trying to cut through it. Also Only could eat 75% of the steak as the rest was tendents.. And to make it worse, was told its table service and someone would be over in a minute, 15 minutes past, Not one person had been over but plenty standing around, in the end I just went to the bar to get some drinks and order the food.. wouldn't recommend especially for nearly £20 per steak.. very disappointed. UPDATE: Was offered X2 complimentary main dishes, took them up on the other to see if they would make things right! Actually couldn't fault my 2nd visit at all, food was great, service was also great! 👌 See photos of 2nd visit.

Only really started coming back here earlier this year. The place did take a dip, and I did stop coming. Once we came back to try again, the place has definitely improved, and it's become a regular place for my husband and I to come and have a meal out together. The food is always hot and tasty, the service is quick and always polite, I genuinely can't fault this place, and I will definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately, I had quite a bad experience here with the food. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful but the food was awful.. I couldn't eat any of it. I ordered hunters chicken and I've never had chicken as thin as bacon or coleslaw with no mayonnaise? The bacon was also fatty and stringy making it inedible. I'm not usually a fussy eater (and I was very hungry!) but left feeling annoyed and still hungry. Poor quality food for high prices.
