About This Pub

Ah, the Travellers Tavern – it's one of those pubs that feels like a reliable old friend in the heart of London, especially if you're popping in near Victoria for a quick catch-up. I have to say, what really stands out is how welcoming it is; the staff often go out of their way to make you feel at home, and there's a great buzz when the big games are on, whether it's the Women's Euros or a Lions tour match. The food's generally a treat too – think classic pub fare with some thoughtful options like vegan dishes that keep everyone happy. Plus, with the beer garden and family-friendly setup, it's perfect for a sunny afternoon or a casual evening with the gang. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks; I've heard a few tales of slower service that can leave you twiddling your thumbs at the bar, and the lighting inside might feel a bit dim if you're not in the mood for a moody atmosphere. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub enthusiasts – worth a visit for the good bits, just keep an eye out for those off moments to manage expectations.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is spot on, right near Victoria Station, making it a breeze for a quick stop after travels or before catching a bus.
  • Staff are generally friendly and welcoming, which really adds to that cosy pub feel we've all come to love.
  • They've got a cracking selection of cask ales and traditional pub food, plus some nice vegan options that hit the spot for those watching their diet.
  • It's a top choice for catching live sports like football or rugby, with plenty of screens and a lively atmosphere during big matches.
  • The outdoor seating and family-friendly vibe make it versatile for a relaxed afternoon pint or a bite with mates.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit hit or miss, with some folks mentioning long waits at the bar that put a dampener on the evening.
  • The interior feels a tad dark for some tastes, which might not be ideal if you're after a brighter, more upbeat space.
  • Food quality seems to vary – while it's often spot on, there have been times when meals haven't quite lived up to expectations.

Extremely disappointing meal and service at this pub. I chose this venue because my family was visiting and staying near Victoria Station, hoping it would be a convenient option for everyone. From the start, our experience was frustrating. We waited far too long to be served at the bar, despite arriving before other customers who were served first. This lack of awareness from the bar staff was incredibly rude—the first rule of hospitality is recognizing who is next in line. Then came the meals—or rather, the lack of them. Both my cousin and I ordered the **Flat Iron Steak**, expecting an actual steak as described on the menu: *"14-day-aged flat iron steak served with house-seasoned fries and blistered vine tomatoes."* What arrived were six small pieces of meat, resembling strips for a stir-fry, rather than a proper steak. I counted—six pieces. The side consisted of a few tomatoes, watercress, and chips. For £18.45, this was beyond unacceptable. I questioned the staff about this misleading description, only to be told *"That’s just how it comes."* The waiter offered an alternative—onion rings and chips—which was absurd, considering I was expecting a protein-based meal. I left hungry and incredibly disappointed. Our empty plates sat on the table for quite some time after we finished, despite the bar being relatively quiet. Given the quality of the meal, I’m not surprised the place wasn’t busy. Other dishes were just as disappointing— - A pie that tasted like it had been thawed from frozen. - A steak sandwich that, again, contained stir-fry-sized meat pieces rather than proper steak. An absolute rip-off. Avoid this place at all costs. I can't believe a pub in Belgravia serves food of such poor quality. 06.06.2025 Was asked to contact the pub, I have called the number listed on the website and there was no answer. If you would like for me to contact you, can you let me know what time so the phone will be answered. thank you

Went for a beer before catching a bus, opposite the departure station, next to arrivals station. Some outdoor seating, plenty of beers on offer. Dark interior, lots of places to sit and have a quiet chat. Friendly staff, tables cleaned often, served food, open standard pub hours. Pub grub on offer.

Whenever I’m in London, I always come back here. In fact, I only choose this place for food! Brilliant food, home/soul food. Great atmosphere and absolutely lovely people. My favourite meal is the vegan mushroom Main dish, so good 😊 Thank you very much 🙏
