About This Pub
Ah, the Travellers Rest in Mapperley – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away near Nottingham with a mix of city buzz and countryside charm. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place does a cracking job at making everyone feel welcome, with staff who go the extra mile to ensure you're looked after. The food's a real highlight; they've got these seasonal menus packed with wholesome classics and specials that hit the spot, whether it's a Sunday roast to round off a weekend stroll or something lighter for a quick bite. It's got that cosy, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for catching up over a pint, and the outdoor area sounds brilliant for those warmer evenings. On the flip side, it's so popular that it often fills up quickly, so you might end up disappointed without a booking, and the lively crowd can make it a tad overwhelming if you're in the mood for something more subdued. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out – the positives far outweigh the niggles, and I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone looking for reliable, enjoyable pub grub in a welcoming setting.

Richard and the team here so accommodating. I would definitely advise booking to guarantee a table as it is always super busy.
Ample parking at the location and some wonderful wholesome food. The menu changes with the season which is nice and gives a variety of options.
Children are welcome and have their own menu and drawing is available for them to keep them entertained.
Some absolutely stunning views and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the great weather when we have it.
If you haven’t yet tried it I definitely recommend!

With lunch special menu, medium sized, taste good and nice presentation.
Will visit again .
A strong 4+ for me. Good food and beer. Nice and busy but the staff were attentive enough. Broad range on the menu as you will see. Friendly and atmospheric and on a Saturday night nice and buzzy. Happy to recommend I think most people wouldn’t be disappointed. Also been for Burns night which was great fun with a proper piper but I didn’t review! Blue light discount is nice too.
We went here for the first time for a Valentine's Day dinner and we both loved the atmosphere, food, and service! It wasn't too noisy or bright and the food and drinks were delicious. Big special thank you to Hannah our server who was incredibly lovely and welcoming! We can't wait to visit again 🙂
