About This Pub

Ah, The Longbow – it's one of those pubs that really stands out as a great all-rounder in Nottingham, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's spot on for special occasions like weddings or kids' parties, with staff who go above and beyond to make everything smooth and enjoyable. The food, especially those hearty roasts, gets rave reviews for being fresh and full of flavour, and the kid-friendly features like soft play areas make it a proper family-friendly spot where you don't have to worry about the little ones getting bored. The atmosphere is warm and buzzing, whether you're there for a disco or just a casual drink, and it's clear folks appreciate the welcoming vibe. On the flip side, though, the operating hours look a tad confusing with all those different times listed, which might catch you out if you're trying to plan ahead. Plus, with an overall rating of 4.0, it's evident that while most people have a fantastic time, there might be the odd off day or inconsistency that stops it from being perfect every time. All in all, if you're after a pub that's got heart and is up for a good gathering, I'd say give The Longbow a go – it's got that community feel that'll make you feel right at home, but just keep an eye on the details to avoid any surprises.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff at The Longbow are absolutely brilliant – always friendly, welcoming, and quick to help, making every visit feel like catching up with mates.
  • It's a top spot for events like weddings or birthday parties, with plenty of space, soft play areas for the little ones, and even a park outside to keep kids entertained.
  • The food is spot on, especially those roast dinners – fresh, full of flavour, and proper satisfying, as if they've put real care into every bite.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely; whether it's a lively disco for adults or a relaxed family gathering, it creates a warm and inclusive vibe that makes you want to linger.
Cons
  • The operating hours can seem a bit muddled with multiple listings for Sundays, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open.
  • While the reviews we have are glowing, the overall rating sits at 4.0, suggesting that not every experience has been perfect, perhaps due to occasional inconsistencies.
  • Their website had some issues when I checked, so it might not be the easiest place to get all the info you need upfront, which could be a minor hassle for planning a visit.

Our wedding day (12/04/25) was absolutely perfect, and a huge part of that was thanks to the incredible team at The Longbow! From the start, they were so responsive and always happy to help with any questions we had, which made the whole planning process so much easier, especially Amy!! One of the biggest things that took away stress was that they let us put up some of our own decorations the night before. It meant we could relax and enjoy the wedding day itself without worrying about last-minute decorating. And let's talk about the food—it was delicious! There was a big range of options, both from the cold and hot buffet, so everyone found something they loved. The room was already decorated beautifully, which added to the magical atmosphere. Plus, the DJ was amazing and kept everyone on the dance floor all night! The staff were also very friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to celebrate our special day with. Thank you so much :)

Hired a room for my daughters 1st birthday party. Room was being cleaned on arrival but still allowed us to bring decorations in and work around them which was really helpful. Made sure we had everything we needed. Plenty of space, food buffet tables available, small dance floor, soft play and access to own toilets. Also has a side door leading out to an outdoor play area however we chose not to use this as it was too cold. Own bar access too which made ordering drinks easy. Kids loved the softplay and kept all ages busy. Thankyou again for letting me use the room

10 of us came today for a roast dinner, it was amazing. Not one bad word to say but a thousand good ones. Each mouthful was delicious and had such flavour. Meat was tender, the food was fresh, pudding was delicious. Lovely friendly pub with friendly staff & customers. Will be back again!
