About This Pub
Ah, the Trafford Arms – it's one of those pubs that just hits the spot, you know? From what folks are saying, the staff really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, and the food is something special; I'm talking top-notch Sunday roasts that leave you wanting more, along with tasty starters and a specials menu that's got people sharing plates like there's no tomorrow. The beer selection is spot on too, with a great range of real ales and lagers that pair perfectly with a catch-up over a pint. It's dead welcoming for dogs as well, which is a lovely touch if you're out and about with your furry companion. On the flip side, it does tend to fill up quickly, especially on a Friday evening, so you might need to time your visit right to avoid the crowds. And with doors shutting around 11pm, it's more of an early-evening spot rather than a all-nighter. All in all, it's a solid choice for a proper pub experience in Norwich – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, and you won't be disappointed.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making you feel right at home with their professional service.
-
The food is an absolute highlight, especially the Sunday roasts and specials – think melt-in-your-mouth lamb shank and homemade Yorkshires that are to die for.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers and real ales, including some cool old favourites and refreshing options like Blue Moon.
-
It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your four-legged mate without any fuss.
-
The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with comfortable furnishings that make it easy to settle in for a good chat.
Cons
-
It can get quite busy on evenings and weekends, which might mean a bit of a wait or trouble finding a spot if you're not early.
-
The closing times are fairly early, around 11pm, so it might not suit if you're after a late-night session.

Lovely pub with lovely, very professional and attentive staff and patrons, dog friendly and very nice comfortable furnishings.
Just had a Sunday Roast it was unbelievable...Lamb Shank for me..just fell off the bone..veg lovely and oh my god the homemade Yorkshires to die for...highly recommended 😀
Great spot for a pint or two and a catch up with a mate, the place was heaving around 5pm on a Friday evening. Pleasant staff, and some cool old beers on a cabinet. They have a cast range of real ales, lager.. I had the delicious Blue Moon
Lively pub within walking distance of the city centre. Recently got a new head chef who's taking the food up a notch with a special's menu. My friends and I ordered all 3 starters to share because everything sounded so yummy we wanted to try it all! We were not disappointed, everything was well presented and so tasty. There's also a house menu with more traditional pub grub and generous portions. The highlight though was the lemon posset which was absolutely delicious! Will definitely return to try whatever comes next on the menu and highly recommend to anyone looking for good, but reasonably priced food.
Great traditional pub with excellent beer selection. Always nice and busy without feeling too crowded. Sunday roasts are also excellent
