About This Pub

Ah, Town Wharf – it's this understated little gem tucked away by the river in Isleworth, and I have to say, it's got that special something that makes you want to linger. The views are just breathtaking, with the water right there, and the inside is so spacious and steeped in history; you can practically feel the stories in the walls. Their beer selection is brilliant too, especially the flavoured ones – I tried one and it was a real highlight. Plus, the service is spot on, making you feel welcome and at ease straight away. But, let's be honest, it's often dead quiet, which can be a bit off-putting if you're expecting a bit of atmosphere; one review even compared it to the Twilight Zone, and I can see why. No music means it's all about chatting, which is great for a proper natter, but it might leave you wanting if you're in the mood for something more upbeat. And while it's listed as inexpensive, I found it a smidge pricey for what you get. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint with mates, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea if you're after a buzzing night out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pub has a beautiful and spacious interior that's full of history, making it a real treat to step inside
  • It boasts stunning waterfront views that create a serene and inviting atmosphere for a relaxing visit
  • They offer an excellent selection of their own brewed beers, with some flavoured options that are absolutely spot on
  • The lack of background music means you can have proper chats without raising your voice, which is a lovely change
  • The service is warm and welcoming, helping you feel right at home from the moment you walk in
Cons
  • It can feel eerily quiet with very few visitors, almost like stepping into another world, which might not suit everyone
  • Without any music or entertainment, it sometimes comes across as a bit dull or empty, especially if you're after more buzz
  • Prices are on the higher side for a spot that's meant to be inexpensive, which could put some off

Strangest pub I know. Absolutely beautiful and spacious inside but has very few guests. Expect the Twilight Zone. I love it for being different.

Great pub, amazing view and second floor has an amazing vibe and atmosphere, but would be great to have some music playing as too quiet and it feels like empty place …but other than that - perfect spot

Great pub, though a bit on the pricey side. I tried their flavored beer, which was amazing, and they have a huge selection of their own brewed beers. The pub itself is beautiful, full of history, and notably has no music. There's a reason for that, they avoid PRS fees by banning music and television. They also discourage the use of mobile phones or electronic devices inside the pub. While this might seem strict at first, I found it refreshing. It was nice to sit without loud music and actually relax, encouraging real conversation. It made for a truly memorable night! As for the food, we had their fish and chips and chicken schnitzel, both of which were of a good standard. The beers, as I mentioned, were exquisite, and the service was excellent.

If you’re looking for a place to truly relax and enjoy a cozy atmosphere, this pub is the perfect choice! First of all, it’s clean and welcoming, which immediately sets the right mood. The absence of background music is a huge plus – you can talk freely without having to raise your voice. Instead of scrolling on your phone, you have access to board games, which are a great way to connect and make time fly by. The staff deserves the highest praise – the manager is always ready to help and happily answers any questions. And the food? Simply amazing! Everything is fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared, and all the drinks are organic and of the highest quality – you can see and taste the difference. The location by the river adds charm, and the outdoor space is a perfect spot to unwind on warm days. This pub is a hidden gem, ideal for family gatherings or meetings where the most important thing is spending quality time together, without rushing or distractions. Highly recommended!

The Town Wharf Pub is a hidden gem, quintessentially and beautifully located right on the banks of the river. With stunning waterfront views, it offers a truly inviting ambiance that feels both charming and serene. The warm and comforting service immediately makes you feel at home, setting the stage for a memorable experience. The food options are nothing short of amazing, featuring a diverse menu that perfectly complements the impressive selection of beers, ciders, whiskeys, and other drinks. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast, a whiskey connoisseur, or simply someone who enjoys a refreshing cider by the water, there’s something here to satisfy every palate. The coffee, served from high-quality Jura machines, is a standout and adds a delightful touch to the experience—rich, aromatic, and brewed to perfection. As a bonus, the pub also boasts a fantastic selection of ice creams, making it a great spot for both adults and families to indulge in a sweet treat while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual drink, a hearty meal, or just a quiet moment with coffee and dessert by the river, the Town Wharf Pub truly delivers on every front.
