About This Pub
Ah, The Victoria Tavern – what a delightful spot it is, tucked away on Worple Road. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this timeless, cosy charm that feels like a proper hidden escape, especially with their live bands lighting up the evenings on Fridays and weekends. I love how the reviews rave about the friendly faces behind the bar and the excellent beer on tap; it's just the thing after a match at Twickenham or a long day. The big garden is a real winner for those sunny afternoons, and with a pool table and sports on show, there's plenty to keep you entertained. On the flip side, it's a shame they don't do full meals – you're stuck with crisps and nuts, which might leave you wanting more if you're after a proper pub grub fix. Plus, with doors not opening until around 2 PM, it might not suit early birds. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, and I'd say give it a go if you're in the area; you'll likely leave with a smile, just like the folks in those reviews did.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The live music is absolutely brilliant, with bands playing on Fridays and weekends, making it a lively spot for a singalong or just soaking in the vibes.
-
It's got that cosy, hidden gem feel – a real escape from the hustle, perfect for unwinding with a pint in their lovely big garden.
-
The staff are fantastically friendly, and the beer selection is spot on, always a treat after a day out.
-
They've got fun extras like a pool table and sports on the telly, plus it's welcoming for families in the conservatory area.
Cons
-
They don't serve proper food, just crisps and nuts, so you might need to pop out for a bite if you're peckish.
-
The opening hours start a bit late, around 2 PM most days, which could be a downside if you're after an early drink.
-
There might be some confusion with the schedule, as it seems a tad inconsistent, so it's worth double-checking before heading over.

really cosy pub. a special hidden space forgotten by time. I do really like it. They have live band on Friday and opened until very late.
Great live music on saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, check the Facebook page for events. Children welcome in the conservatory, pool table and sports shown in one of 2 bars.
Does not offer food, has a range of crisps and nuts
Walking back from the rugby at Twickenham, trying to escape the crush, their little sign offered sanctuary! Great service, wonderful band, Tinsel the Pub Dog! Lovely big garden! Can’t say enough. Just pop in for a pint and you’ll see! Thank you!
Called in after watching match at Twickenham. Fantastically friendly people, excellent beer. We were also treated to two guitarist, one of whom sang incredibly, both excelled on their 🎸. Pity about the rugby 🏉.
