About This Pub
Ah, the Coach & Horses – it's one of those pubs that really feels like the heart of the community in Isleworth, with its rich history dating back to 1897 and even a nod from Charles Dickens. I have to say, it's a cracking spot for a relaxed afternoon or evening; the beer garden is just brilliant, especially on a sunny day, where you can kick back with a cold pint or a glass of wine from their great selection. The food's another highlight – those Sunday roasts are legendary, with juicy meats, tasty sides, and even solid veggie options that hit the spot after a long week. The team there are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everything's just right. But, to keep it real, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few grumbles about smaller portions on some dishes, like the veg feeling a bit skimpy, and there might be the odd wait for service if things get busy. Overall, though, with an impressive 4.3 rating from heaps of reviews, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for good vibes, decent drinks, and that classic pub atmosphere – just pop in with your mates or the dog, and you'll likely have a whale of a time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer garden is an absolute sun-trap and a summer favourite – it's hands down one of the best in Isleworth for relaxing with a drink.
-
The food is spot on, with brilliant British classics and Sunday roasts that folks rave about; they're packed with flavour and go down a treat.
-
Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home – it's like chatting with mates behind the bar.
-
It's got that lovely historical vibe, being an old coaching inn with a mention in Oliver Twist, which adds a bit of character to your visit.
-
Dog-friendly and with easy parking, it's super convenient if you're popping in with the family or your furry friend.
Cons
-
Portions can be a tad on the small side for some dishes, like the veggies with the roast, which might leave you wanting a bit more.
-
Service can occasionally drag, such as waiting for extras like gravy, so it might not be the quickest spot if you're in a rush.
-
The menu's a bit limited in variety according to some, so if you're after something really adventurous, you might not find it here.

Amazing evening at the Coach and Horses in Isleworth. We had baby shower party, buffet was very delicious. Great atmosphere. Kinga served us
Had a lovely meal with family on Easter Sunday, roast was tasty with good selection of sides & accompaniments, vegetarian option was great too.
Great selection of wines & drinks to choose from.
All round wholesome afternoon with great food & drink.
As an old customer, I am .pleased to report this place is getting better and better. Service is much quicker, food is lot better and warmer, no more waiting for drinks order. Sorry I didn't take name of lady who served us so efficiently. My grand kids found a new orange drink in small bottles so tasty. One should heed management's advice and place order beforehand (although we didn't). Billing incl tipping clearly explained.
Staff really friendly. Sunday roasts are really good. Just needed more generous gravy jugs as took a long while to get their attention for more gravy. We had one veggie roast 1 x chicken roast. Really good but on carrot and green veg portion (cabbage) was tiny - more veg guys!
1 x haddock n' chips (really good) and 1 x kids fish n' chips bit on small side for an average portion eating 9 year old. For £10 a little drink included would be nice guys. Lovely table . Thanks ☺️
Absolutely lovely!! I have been past this pub a million times and never been inside but I am SO glad I eventually did - it is an absolute gem. The staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive (which can be a real rarity these days!) and nothing was too much trouble. Although the menu is a little bit limited the food we ordered was delicious and served in a very prompt and efficient manner. The whole feel and ambience of the pub is just lovely and is now my new 'local' - if want to meet with friends or family for a get together I will be bringing them here. Thank you.
