About This Pub
Ah, Toby Carvery Moby Dick – it's one of those reliable pubs where you can pop in for a proper British roast and feel right at home. From what I've gathered, the food really shines; those roasts are cooked with real care, and there's a great selection of sides, veggies, and even vegan options to suit all tastes. The staff stand out too – they're chatty and efficient, making every meal feel a bit special, whether it's a quick weekday bite or a Sunday feast. It's affordable and family-oriented, which is ideal if you're out with the little ones or just a group of friends looking for good grub. On the flip side, though, with that 3.9 rating from the crowd, it's not always hitting the mark; you might run into busier times where things get a bit hectic, or notice it doesn't have the same bespoke feel as some local haunts. Still, for a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience in Chadwell Heath, it's worth a go – I'd say give it a try and see if it becomes your new favourite for a relaxed meal.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The roasts are an absolute treat – cooked to perfection with plenty of flavour and tenderness, making it a real highlight for anyone craving a classic British meal.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, like Dee, Neve, and the carvers who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and add a personal touch to your visit.
-
It's super family-friendly with options for all ages, including a kids' menu, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and even an all-you-can-eat breakfast, so there's something for everyone.
-
At inexpensive prices, it's brilliant value for money, especially for a hearty meal that leaves you satisfied without breaking the bank.
Cons
-
With an overall rating of 3.9, it's clear not every visit is flawless – there might be the odd off day with service or food quality slipping a bit.
-
It can get quite busy, particularly on holidays or weekends, which might mean a wait for a table or a noisier atmosphere than you'd hope for a relaxed catch-up.
-
As a chain pub, it sometimes lacks that unique, cosy charm you get from independent spots, feeling a tad generic in its setup.

Perfect meal. Got a table straight away even on Father’s Day. Our server Dee was incredible and so kind. Our host Neve was also incredible very chatty and warm. We had carvers Lucy and Charlie and they were lovely and carved a very nice piece of meat. Would 1000% recommend!!!

Had a lovely meal! Dee was great, very helpful and friendly, and very patient taking the dessert order while we all considered the options.
Lovely carvery with plenty of choices. The carvery, Taylor, was very friendly and made my little nephew feel very grown up when asking for his choice of meats.
Good atmosphere and nice clean environment!
Thank you ☺️
Great Food and Even Better Service!
Popped into Toby Carvery and had a really good experience. The food was exactly what you'd hope for—hot, tasty, and plenty of it. The roast was spot on, and everything was cooked just right.
Big shoutout to our server, Cherise—she was honestly amazing. Super friendly, on the ball, and just had a great vibe about her. Made us feel welcome without being over the top, and you could tell she actually cared that we were having a good time.
Overall, solid food and brilliant service. Definitely coming back, and if Cherise is working, even better!
