Came in for the Sunday roast and was seriously let down. The food clearly wasn’t fresh – everything tasted like it had just been reheated. The meat was dry, the vegetables were bland and overdone, and the Yorkshire pudding was cold and chewy. Nothing felt homemade or freshly cooked.
Honestly, if you’re coming here just for drinks, that’s fine – the bar is decent and the vibe is okay. But if you’re planning to eat, think twice. The food is way below standard and definitely not worth the money. Won’t be eating here again.
We absolutely love The Tide End in Teddington, it’s our go-to local and such a gem of a pub. The landlords have created a really welcoming and friendly atmosphere that keeps us coming back. They’re always so kind and down-to-earth, and you can really feel the care they put into making it a space people want to return to.
Whether we’re popping in for a quick drink, staying for a long catch-up, or enjoying a meal (which always hits the spot!), it’s the kind of place that just feels easy and relaxed. The outside areas at both the front and back are a real bonus too, perfect for soaking up the sun with friends.
Thank you for making this place so special, we’re very lucky to have it as our local!
An absolute gem in picturesque location. Lots of character and always a warm welcome. The food and service both spot on. They cope brilliantly with small groups too, can highly recommend if you’re looking for a traditional pub not trying to be anything other than that - a rare find these days and highly recommend a visit for the fish and chips, superb fish cakes and pies when on the specials menu
Great pub with a good atmosphere.
Has some lovely little places to squirrel yourself away for a quiet pint and the little beer garden hidden at the back is a sun trap in the summer.
The food is good and I’ve always found the staff to be helpful and friendly.
Would recommend if you want a proper pub rather than next door which is a crèche that serves food.
Just had another meal here, second time. It was mothers day and the customers were plentiful and a bit crazy. The big table next to us were laughing so loudly and weirdly together with their baby that we felt like we were in a circus. The food was ok, the vegetarian roast was a bit tasteless, and not too much protein, as it was a nut roast. I always enjoy a meat alternative, sure maybe not as healthy but I am not a vegetarian for health reasons, I still love to eat. The starter we had, the crab, was probably the weirdest thing I have ever ordered. It was straight from the fridge and the butter was completely hard, it echoed when I knocked my fork against it. I thought it would be melted butter. It felt weird to eat it so I had a taste but couldnt eat more. I had to salt my roast a lot but all in all it was alright. Just a bit bland, like it would be good to serve a toddler taste-wise, nothing standing out. My wife rated hers 6.5 out of 10 (she had the beef) and it would have been 7.5 if the table with the cacklers wouldn´t have circused it up. I rated my roast 7 out of 10. We won´t come back for a roast, but last time we were there when we were one of the few guests, and the ambience was super chill and nice, and we had the pies, it was a lovely experience. That is why we came back. Bar staff is lovely.
