About This Pub
Oh, what a treat The Anglers is, tucked away by the picturesque Teddington Lock – it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its riverside charm and spacious garden, ideal for soaking up the sun with a cold pint in hand. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the affordable lunch deals and hearty portions, like those perfectly battered fish or fresh sandwiches that make for a satisfying meal. It's spot on for groups or family dos, with plenty of room indoors and out, and the staff seem to go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome. But, and I say this as a mate giving straight advice, it's not all perfect – there have been a few grumbles about some dishes falling flat, like a roast that was more miss than hit with cold spuds and dodgy gravy, which is a shame when you're expecting top-notch grub. Prices can sting a bit too, so if you're watching the pennies, it might not be your go-to every time. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed day out, as long as you keep expectations balanced and maybe stick to the safer menu options for a reliably good time.

Stopped here for a drink on a hot spring day. What a stunning place. The location was perfect and the set-up evoked a festival site. Just brilliant!
Lovely pub along the teddington lock with a generous amount of garden space and seats! Went there for lunch and they have a very affordable lunch menu/sandwich menu! The fish was battered and fried nicely and came with lots of dips by default! The fish finger ciabatta was also done really nicely!
We had a very disappointing experience at *The Anglers* in Teddington. We came for dinner and ordered the roast beef, but the meal was a complete letdown: the potatoes were hard and cold, the gravy had a very unpleasant taste, and the quality of the meat was extremely poor — tough, dry, and far from what you'd expect in a proper Sunday roast. The only decent part of the dish was the cauliflower cheese side.
When we politely voiced our dissatisfaction while paying, the waitress simply turned her back and walked away mid-conversation, ignoring us entirely. Feeling dismissed, we decided to speak to the manager. Shockingly, his response was even ruder. Instead of being professional or understanding, he told us they had served over 250 customers that day and we were the *only* ones complaining — as if that somehow invalidated our experience.
It’s worth noting that we did *not* refuse to pay. We had already paid the bill before making any comments. Our feedback was honest and respectful, yet we were met with sarcasm and arrogance.
We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this place to anyone. Bad food can sometimes happen — but disrespectful treatment of paying customers is completely unacceptable.
Very nice pub, massive place with large indoor and outdoor areas.
Went for a big family birthday 20 of us and the food was delicious. A bit on the pricey side but good quality and large portions.
Lovely pub on the Thames. We were stopping at the Lensbury next door and popped into the Anglers for breakfast. Great selection and variety on the menu. My son had a sausage brioche sandwich and really enjoyed it. Coffee was also really nice and well presented. Staff and service were great. Also thought it was reasonably priced for London too. Great atmosphere with different sections in the pub to sit. Nicely decorated, with a cool book shelf where you can choose and book and donate to charity. Would highly recommend a visit, would imagine it's also nice in the summer months.
