About This Pub

Ah, The King's Head, what a lovely spot it is in the heart of Teddington. I've got to say, from what I've seen, it's one of those places that just gets it right most of the time – you walk in and immediately feel that homely charm, with its cosy nooks and cheerful staff who go out of their way to make sure you're looked after. The food's a standout; think fresh, vibrant flavours in their menus, and don't miss out on the steak nights or happy hours for a bit of a bargain. That back garden is an absolute treat on a nice day, and it's brilliant that they welcome dogs too, as long as you let them know in advance. On the flip side, though, you might run into a snag with the outdoor areas if there's an event booked, which could mean missing out on that al fresco experience, and the kitchen wrapping up early on Sundays might leave you hunting for options if you're out late. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night with mates – the high ratings speak for themselves, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for that perfect blend of traditional pub feel and modern touches.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – fresh, seasonal dishes that leave you wanting more, with highlights like their Sunday roasts and steak nights that are real crowd-pleasers.
  • The staff are so friendly and welcoming; they make you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a pint or settling in for a meal.
  • It's got a lovely atmosphere with a cosy bar, a spacious dining area, and great outdoor spots like the beer terrace and hidden courtyard – perfect for a sunny afternoon.
  • Dog-friendly vibes are a big plus; you can bring your furry friend along, as long as you give them a heads-up.
  • With happy hours and special offers, it's a fantastic spot for a budget-friendly night out, and the overall rating is spot-on at 4.5, backed by plenty of happy feedback.
Cons
  • Outdoor seating can sometimes be limited if there's an event on, like a wedding, so you might have to plan around that or stick to indoors.
  • The kitchen closes a bit early, especially on Sundays at 9pm, which could cut short your evening if you're in the mood for a late bite.
  • While it's generally buzzing, it might feel a tad crowded during peak times, so getting a table could take a little extra effort.

Couldn’t be happier with the service at The Kings Head. We were told that the garden was hired for a wedding later the day but the staff we happy for us to eat outside providing we ate before the guests arrived. The staff seems completely unphased and unstressed despite setting up the garden for a wedding and serving us at the same time. Superb professionalism. The food was fantastic, the scotch egg was superb and the cheese soufflé stole the show. I can’t remember the name of the dessert pictured, but it was the perfect dessert; light but rich! A great local pub at the heart of a great community in Teddington. Will absolutely visit again!

This was surprising and really lovely. I’d never been to this pub before despite living in the general area for many years. It’s great to be able to discover something new and worth returning to. The food here was exceptional and the service was very good and just the right amount of friendly. The atmosphere was busy but it did not feel over crowded as it is a large space with lots of smaller sub areas. We didn’t have to wait too long for each course and I enjoyed every mouthful. My only regret was we had no room for pudding. The cheese soufflé only became cheesy when you poured the sauce on so you could put as much on as you wanted. The pork came with a crackling tuile. The wine that went with the meal, in our case a red Montepulciano, was very good as well. Fruity and full bodied. I’ll definitely come back here.

Lovely find. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The back garden was a wonderful place to sit especially since we had beautiful weather when we were there. Inside was also beautifully decorated. They also do Sunday roast so definitely going to go back to try it as I'm sure it will be delicious judging from what we tasted today.
