About This Pub
You know, when I chat about The Wyggeston with mates, I always start with how it's got this warm, community feel that makes it stand out. From the reviews, the staff are spot on – proper friendly and accommodating, like when they sorted out school reunions or threw a brilliant Halloween bash for the kids. Live music adds to the fun, and those small kindnesses, such as a free pint for helping out a neighbour, just make you smile. Prices are reasonable too, and it's clear they're putting in the effort to upgrade the place, which is a nice bonus for future visits. But, to keep it real, there was that one off-putting experience where a staff member was on their phone, swearing and ignoring folks, which sounds like a right letdown. Still, with most folks raving about it and an overall solid rating, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a top time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's a fantastic spot for events and celebrations, with live music and a lively atmosphere that keeps things buzzing.
-
They offer decent prices and are in the midst of some upgrades, so the place is only getting better over time.
-
Those little thoughtful gestures, like a free pint for a kind act, really add a personal touch and make it memorable.
Cons
-
There was one instance of poor service where a staff member was reportedly slow, rude, and distracted, which could put a damper on your visit.

Didn't eat there but the staff and punters were a lovely friendly bunch... Well worth a visit.
Wow what can I say . What an amazing afternoon celebrating Halloween the children was well entertained and very happy we will definitely return
Good gestures go a long way! I was holding on to a parcel for a neighbour and just got told he’s dying after giving it into the pub. I got a free pint to say thanks and the room here is being named after him🥹🥲🤍
Not sure what they pay their staff to do but took 25 mins on Sunday for a member of staff I believe he was called Nathan to serve me, and when he did he was more interested in been on his phone on a video call swearing and berating other staff members and customers. I even witnessed him telling a customer “if you don’t like the service you know where the door is”, This is the 4th time I’ve been back in 3 weeks and every time it’s completely abysmal service, if I could rate lower stars I would. Not only is this an uncomfortable atmosphere but it really doesn’t look good on the company. I asked another member of staff if there was a manager available and was told to call back later, I just find the way things where handled very unprofessional. I won’t be back, it’s a shame how one person drags the whole experience down. Think new staff and retraining needs to be assessed
We had 2 school reunions there this summer and Brian & Laura were very accommodating and made sure we had a great time.
There was live music there the last time we were there and they were excellent.
Great service, decent prices and a nice pub that is being upgraded. 👍🍻
