About This Pub

Ah, The Loaf & Cheese in Burton-on-Trent is one of those pubs that just hits the spot for a good night out. From the reviews I've seen, the staff are absolute stars – always up for a chat and making you feel right at home, which really adds to the charm. The atmosphere is spot on too, with big screens for catching the latest matches and a pool table that could keep you entertained for hours; it's got that perfect mix of relaxed and fun. Drinks are fairly priced, and they've got solid choices like Bass that go down a treat. On the downside, if you're hoping for a bite to eat, you're mostly out of luck unless it's summer when they do simple grub like hot dogs with the bands playing outside. It's tucked away a bit, so you might need to plan your trip, and without a website, it's not as easy to get the lowdown beforehand. Still, with a strong 4.6 rating from folks who've been there, it's clear this place does a lot right and is worth a visit for anyone after a genuine, no-fuss pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It has a fantastic atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening with live sports on the big screens and a pool table for some friendly competition.
  • Drinks are reasonably priced and include decent options like Bass, so you get good value without breaking the bank.
  • It's a family-friendly spot with a wonderful vibe, ideal for a casual get-together.
  • The overall rating is a solid 4.6, reflecting plenty of positive experiences from fellow pub goers.
Cons
  • Food options are quite limited; they only offer simple things like hot dogs and burgers during the summer with bands, so it's not the place for a proper meal.
  • It's a bit out-of-the-way in Burton-on-Trent, which might make it tricky to find if you're not local.
  • There's no website listed, so it's harder to check the latest events or opening times before heading out.

It's a family pub but it's got a wonderful atmosphere and the drinks are a good price . They don't do food unless it's summer time with bands on outside with outside food " hot dogs & burgers with onions " . Big screens for live sports and a pool table.

Absolutely phenomenal pub with lovely staff. The food and drinks here are absolutely sublime. It's very comfortable with nice ambiance. The staff here are very welcoming and are a pleasure to talk to. They even barred this 'Vladimir Putin' geezer, said they'd wreck him if he ever dared step in the property. Not sure who that bloke is but it's a shame for him to miss out on such a lovely experience. 5/5 I'd definitely recommend!
