About This Pub
Ah, The Wolvercote – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local in Oxford, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff really shine; they're so attentive and create that warm, chatty atmosphere that makes you want to linger over a drink. The food's generally a winner too, with hearty classics like fish and chips coming out spot on – fresh, flavoursome, and reasonably priced, which is always a plus for a casual night out. They've got a great setup with a beer garden and being dog-friendly, so it's brilliant for families or if you're out with the pooch on a nice day. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect; there have been times when the grub's fallen a bit flat, like with some dishes that weren't up to scratch, perhaps due to kitchen hiccups. And while the rustic charm is lovely, a few things like tatty chairs show it might need a refresh here and there. Overall, though, I'd say it's worth a visit if you're after a solid pub experience – just go in with an open mind, and you'll likely have a cracking time.

We went for lunch and wish we hadn't. Had to eat in the bar as the restaurant wasn't open. Lovely window table but the state of the ripped chair was bad. Ordered food and was told the chef had left and the manager was cooking. Cheap quality scampi and the chips were poor. Curry was OK but rice and naan was not good quality. The bar itself was so sticky and needed a good clean down. Used to be a great pub, shame. Won't be back.
Loved this pub before, it was a great addition to Oxford. The guys running it now have not only upkept the same quality and atmosphere but they’re improving it, against the odds… The food is great, especially for the price, the staff are so friendly and fun and I can’t wait to see the magic they do with it!
This bar has a wonderful, cozy atmosphere with a charming rustic touch. The selection of drinks is impressive, and everything is well-organized and inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every guest feels welcome. A great place to relax and enjoy a drink!
Delicious food! Amazing atmosphere and polite people. I had best tart I have ever eaten. I'm picky person but everything was cooked to perfection. I would definitely come back again.
Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time! Huge amount of fish no excessive batter, beautifully flakey chunky white fish meat. Hope they stick with where they get their fish from. Perfect amount of chips and peas. Great value for money :)
