About This Pub
Oh, you know, if you're popping over to Oxford and fancy a proper country pub that feels a cut above the rest, The Trout Inn really hits the spot. It's got this fabulous spot right by the river, with a sprawling garden that's just made for lazy afternoons or a cheeky walk nearby – I can imagine settling in with a cold pint and watching the world go by. The food is genuinely brilliant; they've got everything from light bites to hearty meals, with vegan options and family-friendly choices that cater to all tastes, and folks rave about the squid starter and fresh seafood. The staff are lovely too, always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that warm, welcoming feel. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect – sometimes the service slips up, like not clearing tables promptly or forgetting a course, which can be a bit frustrating on a busy day. Still, with its stylish refurb and that overall charm, it's well worth a visit if you're up for treating yourself, as long as you keep expectations realistic for the price tag. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable get-together with friends.

The outdoor garden area is large and wonderful just next to the river. Their food is so yummy but they have to improve the efficiency of tidying up the used table.
Amazing pub, so beautiful. Really good vegan food. Parking opposite. It’s the location set in this book too which was cool. Very happy visited twice on my trip.
We've been coming here for years and seen the changes. From an olde worlde pub to a gastronomic destination when in Wolvercote. They've retained its original feel and improved the food and services to a very high standard. Prices are not cheap but worth the value.
Great place for kids too. River Thames flowing on side makes this a picturesque place to meet and dine.
Great tasting food. Service was good too until they forgot to serve our dessert.. we tried salt and pepper squid, sea bass, crab sandwich, and coconut sorbet..all tasted amazing! We had a great time, lovely outdoor seating arrangement...also, lovely walks nearby, free parking..all in all a great experience
Fantastic pub/restaurant, delicious food, beautiful location and friendly and attentive staff- what more could you ask for?
The squid starter was particularly delicious.
Lovely welcome from all the staff and I must say thank you to our server, Xavi, for great service.
