About This Pub
Ah, The Medley – it's one of those hidden gems in Oxford that really comes alive in the warmer months, perched along the Thames Path with views that make you want to linger all afternoon. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the wood-fired pizzas; they're fresh, flavoursome, and pair brilliantly with a cold pint or a refreshing cocktail like that frozen watermelon margarita everyone's talking about. The overall feel is so relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of green space to enjoy, and it's great that they allow well-behaved dogs along – makes it feel even more like a proper community spot. On the flip side, though, it's a seasonal affair, so you won't find it buzzing in the winter, and getting there involves a bit of a walk from the car park, which might not suit everyone, especially if you're carrying much. Plus, with no bookings, you could face a queue on peak days, and if gluten-free options are your thing, they do their best but can't promise it's entirely cross-contamination free. All in all, it's a top pick for a casual get-together, but plan ahead and you'll have a whale of a time soaking up that riverside charm.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The location is absolutely stunning, right by the River Thames with gorgeous green surroundings that make it perfect for a relaxing summer day out.
-
The wood-fired pizzas are spot on – think crispy bases, great toppings, and even tasty options like roasted aubergine that hit the mark every time.
-
It's got a really chilled and welcoming vibe, with a good selection of pints, cocktails, and even treats like tiramisu to round off your visit.
-
Dogs on leads are welcome in the beer garden, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry friend.
Cons
-
It's only open seasonally from April to September, so you might miss out during the colder months.
-
No vehicle access means you'll have to walk from the nearest car park, which could be a bit of a trek if you're not up for it.
-
Tables are first come, first served, so you might end up queuing for a spot, especially on busy weekends.
-
They can't guarantee a fully gluten-free environment due to the cooking process, which might be a concern for some folks with dietary needs.

Excellent place to visit at summer! The pizza was delicious, the tomatoes sauce was the best! There are a lot of options of drinks!
Cute place right by the water! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the surroundings are green and gorgeous. The pizza is spot on. You might have to stand in line for a while to order, but service is pretty quick. Do try the tiramisu too!
Amazing pizza every time, gorgeous location. Frozen watermelon margarita much better than I expected. Pizzas are spot on all around crispy bases, great toppings and a tangy garlic dip.
Such a lovely location with delicious pizzas and a good selection of drinks. I had the roasted aubergine pizza which was so good! Service is also welcoming and helpful :)
