About This Pub

Ah, The Wobbly Stamp – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this inviting atmosphere that's spot on for catching up with mates or enjoying a quiet drink, and the selection of real ales is top-notch, with plenty of local and broader choices at reasonable prices. The staff come across as genuinely friendly, and little perks like discounts for blue card and ex-military folks add a nice community feel. It's open most days from around 2 PM, so it's handy for an afternoon or evening out. On the flip side, it can get really bustling, which means you might struggle to find a seat, and if you're not a regular, you could end up waiting a tad longer at the bar while they sort out the locals first. Overall, it's a solid spot for ale enthusiasts, but I'd say it's best to go with a plan in mind to make the most of it – perhaps aim for a quieter time if you're after a relaxed visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely spot on – it's warm, welcoming, and perfect for a good chat over a pint.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of real ales, including local brews and some wider options, with fair prices that won't break the bank.
  • The staff are lovely and really friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • There are discounts for blue card holders and post-military folks, which is a nice touch and shows they care about their community.
  • Outdoor seating has been expanded, great for those sunny days when you fancy a drink al fresco.
Cons
  • It can get pretty busy at times, making it a challenge to snag a seat, especially if you're popping in on a whim.
  • Sometimes when you're waiting to be served, the regulars get priority, which might leave you hanging for a bit longer than you'd like.

Great place, sometimes very busy and hard to get a seat but that’s just a testament to the atmosphere and selection of beers

Not a bad place. Has a decent atmosphere some good drinks. Main issue is if you’re waiting to be served you’ll be overlooked for one of the regulars and have to wait until they’re sorted first. I get looking after your customers but I was waiting quite a while. Otherwise a decent place.

If you like real ales and if you can get past the locals this is the place to go. Good selection of local and wider selection of ales, they give discounts for blue card and post military personnel. The prices are very reasonable, there is even a selection of bottles and cans behind the bar.
