About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Printers Arms, it just feels like that reliable local pub we all wish was on our street corner. It's got this warm, community vibe that's really inviting, with folks chatting away and a laid-back energy that makes you feel at home straight away. The beers are spot on – especially those Robinsons cask ones, which are always in top form and go down a treat. If you're up for some entertainment, there's pool and darts to dive into, plus live sports on the big screens and the occasional live music that livens up the weekends. It's brilliant that it's dog-friendly and welcoming for families too, with handy perks like free parking and nearby EV charging making it accessible for everyone. On the downside, though, the beer garden is a gem on a sunny day, but without any cover, it's not ideal when the British weather turns moody. And sometimes it can feel a tad quiet, particularly mid-week, which might not hit the mark if you're after a lively night out. Still, it's honestly a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a catch-up with mates – just keep an eye on the opening times, as it's shut on Tuesdays. All in all, it's got that perfect balance of old-school charm and a fresh feel, making it worth a visit if you're in the area.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and friendly, making it feel like a true community hub where everyone is welcome.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of Robinsons cask beers, always well-kept and perfect for a proper pint.
  • Loads of entertainment on offer, like pool, darts, live sports on big screens, and even live music at weekends – keeps things lively.
  • It's super dog-friendly and family-friendly, with wheelchair access, free parking, and EV charging nearby, so it's easy to pop in with the whole gang.
  • The beer garden is a lovely spot for sunny afternoons, ideal for enjoying a drink outdoors when the weather plays ball.
Cons
  • The beer garden lacks any cover, so it's not much use if the rain comes down or the wind picks up.
  • It can be a bit quiet at times, especially on weekdays, which might not suit those after a buzzing vibe.
  • Real ale options seem limited on some visits, so you might not always find a wide variety to choose from.
  • They're closed on Tuesdays, which is a shame if you're planning a mid-week get-together.

Congratulations to the new tenants who have worked wonders on this venue. Fantastic local pub, relaxed friendly atmosphere, great selection of drinks, and also offers entertainment and pool table. Recommended.

Dog friendly. New owner's have moved the pool table to the conservatory area and opened the snug to be a traditional snug. Pleasant bar, great location, staff are very accommodating, locals are friendly.

Seems a friendly enough little place. Unfortunately the beer garden doesn’t offer any cover

I first visited this pub over 40 years ago. Jorvic making his first trip here. For most of this time one family ran it but it looks like they have left and the pub is available to lease. This is a Robinson's pub. Only Unicorn bitter on offer as a real ale on my visit. It was fine. Very quiet on a Saturday afternoon. There is a rear car park and small outdoor patio. Inside is a one room bar plus a pool / games room. They tried food a good few years ago but not recently. The closure of the large AA offices across the road must have hit them hard. New tenants will have a job turning it around.

We went for Karaoke. We were getting a few stares at first as the strangers, but as the Karaoke got started and my son sang a few songs, I think we fitted right in 😊 It was a lovely pub, good atmosphere and good beer. We will definitely be going back 👍
