About This Pub
Ah, The Wilpshire Hotel in Blackburn – it's one of those classic community pubs that really pulls you in with its easy-going charm. I have to say, the drinks are an absolute highlight; they've got premium lagers, ciders, and some brilliant offers that make it feel like a proper treat without costing a fortune. Pop in for live sports on the HD screens or catch some live music, and you'll likely have a cracking time soaking up the friendly atmosphere – it's especially nice that it's dog-friendly, so you can bring the pup along for the ride. On the flip side, a few folks have mentioned some off days with the service, like getting a bit of a frosty reception, which is a shame because it can put a damper on things. And while they do food, it hasn't wowed everyone; there are tales of disappointing meals that didn't quite hit the spot. All in all, it's worth swinging by for a pint and a chat if you're in the area, but maybe keep your expectations realistic for the grub and staff – that way, you're in for a pleasant surprise rather than a letdown.

The service here is terrible I went on a Monday morning at around 10pm and on the website it said it closes at 11pm I sat in the beer garden with my dogs and I gentle men kept clearing at me through the doors and the rudely opens the door and says what do you think your doing and then proceeds to rudely say that they are closed the customer service is terrible would not advice anyone to go
Great pub with lots of people having a lovely time the new landlord and landlady seem full of energy and it makes a great night.
We had a leaving party from work and decided to go here. What a great choice we made, the entertainment was Brill. Service and friendliness great. Will definitely go again.
My partner and I called in for food about a week or so ago and were quite disappointed by the food we got. I had ordered a double vegan burger with Mac and cheese as a topping, and my partner had ordered a double cheese burger. A few minutes after ordering, we were approached by the chef who had said that they couldn’t find any of the vegan burgers, but offered to make me something with the veggie sausages and nuggets that they had. I was fine with this, however when the food came I definitely didn’t expect what I got. It was some very dry veggie sausages and veggie nuggets in a burger bun with nachos. The Mac and cheese topping had also ended up on my partners burger! No salad or anything, and it was very dry. Reminded me of my uni meals haha. The chips were nice though and arrived piping hot. My partners burger looked much better though and he enjoyed it.
Customer service was pleasant and the staff with very friendly though which made the trip here nicer despite the poor food on my side. While I don’t think we’ll be returning, we’ll definitely be looking back at this experience with a smile!
The beers, the pizzas, the staff and the locals are all absolutely superb, highly recommended
