About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about the Brownhill Arms – it's one of those cosy spots in Blackburn that really captures the spirit of a traditional community pub. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels included, which really sets the tone for a great night out. There's always something on, like the popular quiz nights or live entertainment, and it's fantastic for families or if you're popping in with your dog for a relaxed afternoon. The drinks selection is spot on too, with everything from top-notch cask ales to a variety of spirits, and that beer garden is perfect for soaking up the sun when the weather plays ball. On the flip side, it's a cash-only place, so you'll need to plan ahead and hit the ATM first, and if you're not from the area, it might take a bit of navigating to find. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening with mates or a special occasion – I'd say give it a go if you're after that genuine pub feel without any pretence.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, always making you feel right at home from the get-go.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with regular events like quiz nights on Thursdays and live music on Saturdays, keeping things lively and fun.
  • They're super dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your four-legged mate for a pint without any fuss.
  • The beer garden is a real treat on warmer days, with parasols and benches for relaxing outside with a cold drink.
  • They offer a great selection of quality cask ales, lagers, wines, spirits, and even cocktails, catering to all tastes.
Cons
  • It's cash only, which can be a bit of a hassle if you're out and about without any notes in your pocket.
  • The location might feel a tad out of the way if you're not local to Blackburn, though it's worth the effort for a visit.

Fantastic pub, couple who run the place are excellent, lovely friendly staff, who have already got my drinks round down pat ( San Miguel and a dry white wine),. Just seen a review by a Beckie Power awful review, now everybody is entitled to their opinion, but if what you say is true why is the establishment this busy.

I really liked this place. Plenty of space and a good set of magazines etc if you want a read with a pint. Sports Tv if you want it and a pool table. The don't take cards though so can only, there is a cash machine around the corner two minutes. Quite big Gin selection.
