About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The Wigmore – it's this gem of a restaurant in Luton that's all about fresh, flavoursome food and a really inviting feel. I've heard from folks who've raved about their fish and chips, which are apparently top-notch and made with the finest ingredients, plus things like Mediterranean chicken and massive battered fish that sound like a proper treat. The staff are just lovely, always polite and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to that homely vibe. It's got a modern, cosy setup that's perfect for catching up with mates over a meal, whether it's brekkie, lunch, or dinner. On the flip side, it does get packed sometimes, so you might end up waiting if you don't book, and I did notice one comment about a side salad not being quite up to par – nothing major, but it's worth keeping in mind. Also, with it being closed a couple of days a week, it's not ideal for spontaneous plans on Mondays or Sundays. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good, honest food without breaking the bank, and I'd say give it a go for a relaxed outing – you'll likely leave with a smile and a full belly.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, with standout dishes like their award-winning fish and chips and hearty roast dinners that leave you feeling satisfied.
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in – it's that warm, family-run charm.
  • The atmosphere is cosy and modern, perfect for a relaxed meal whether you're popping in for a quick bite or settling in for all-day dining.
  • They focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and sustainability, which is a nice touch for those who appreciate ethical eating.
  • Portions are generous, so you get great value for a moderate price, especially with options for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at peak times, so you might have to wait a bit or plan ahead if you're after a table.
  • There's a minor niggle with some sides, like the salad garnish not quite hitting the mark in one instance, which could do with a bit more attention.
  • They're closed on Mondays and Sundays, which is a shame if you're looking for a spot to visit on those days.
  • While the decor is fabulous, it might feel a tad formal for those wanting a more laid-back, traditional pub vibe.

A delightful surprise. The decor is fabulous and modern. The food is delicious and plentiful with the very minor exception of my side salad/garnish. I went with the Mediterranean inspired chicken, which was very tasty and my friends had the biggest fish I've ever seen battered on a plate, and what looked like a very tasty burger! I'll definitely be back to try something else soon.

Popped in with a mate for a coffee and quick bite. Got there before luck it was empty, by the time we got our food it was really filling up. Staff we're lovely, food was good. Took a picture of a rose latte as never had one before looked like a cocktail. Oddly nice if you like Turkish a must try

The best roast dinner you can ever eat in Luton, in a unique high class decor restaurant. You are immediately greeted by polite and professional staff; with an amazing family atmosphere. The food is michelin star, however with good size portions, we also had an extra side dish of cod which was impeccable. This is the best overall restaurant I have been too in the uk, u will not be disappointed
