About This Pub
Ah, Big Smoke Taphouse & Kitchen at Luton Airport – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable pit stop when you're dashing off on a flight. I have to say, the staff really stand out; they're so attentive and make the whole experience feel welcoming, just like when someone goes above and beyond to sort you out. The food arrives in no time at all, which is a godsend if you're on a tight schedule, and bits like the bacon roll are absolute winners – soft, well-cooked, and full of flavour. That barcode ordering system is a neat trick too, making everything feel modern and straightforward. But let's keep it real, it's not all perfect; the portions can be a bit stingy for what you're paying, and I've heard a few grumbles about things like overcooked burgers or drinks that don't quite taste right. Prices are on the higher end, which might not sit well if you're watching the pennies, and it does get packed, so you might end up elbow-to-elbow with others. Overall, it's a solid choice for a quick bite rather than a relaxed sit-down, and I'd pop in again if I needed something fast, but maybe with lower expectations on the finer details.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The staff are incredibly helpful and make you feel right at home, like that chap Naga who keeps everything running smoothly.
-
Food comes out lightning fast, which is perfect if you're in a rush before a flight.
-
Some dishes are spot on, like the amazing bacon roll with its soft bun and melty cheese.
-
The place is kept super clean and tidy, especially in the quieter spots away from the hustle.
-
Ordering via barcode is a clever, efficient way to get things sorted without any fuss.
Cons
-
Portions can be a bit on the small side, leaving you wanting more for the price.
-
Prices are a tad steep, such as 30 quid for a burger and a beer, which might sting a little.
-
Some food items don't quite hit the mark, like burgers that are a bit too charred or cider that's flat.
-
It gets quite crowded, with seats packed too close together, making it feel a bit cramped.
-
Drink quality can be hit or miss, with things like coffee turning out undrinkable at times.

Great place to stop and eat before the flight! We sat in the middle which was lovely and quiet and kept super clean and tidy! The food was great, came out so fast and the staff were super helpful especially Naga who was constantly keeping everything going he was so helpful and his customer service was outstanding. Thankyou.
Stop there for lunch of burgers and beer before my flight.
They let u order using a barcode which is very efficient. Food was hot and arrived quickly. On the cons: price of burger and draft beer was approx 30 squid and the burger was a little too charred for my taste.
Oh, and the onion rings were from actual real onion and not synthetic mash :)
All round decent place, probably a 7/10 overall. Cider was flat, bacon roll was amazing, super soft bun well cooked, melty cheese. Coffee was undrinkable, not sure how it even managed to taste like that but I had to go across to Avalon to get something drinkable. Would recommend for a quick stop. Staff were friendly and super attentive. Served by 2 young ladies that were on the ball and pleasant to be around
4 out of five stars, portions are quite small for a traditional English breakfast dish, which came for 15£ sausages are worth trying, though I have to warn you, you will feel dry and thirsty after eating it, place is overcrowded and seats are too close to each other. Worth trying once but there are definitely other places better than this one.
The restaurant is located in the middle of Luton Airport. There are two parts of the restaurants, one is close to the kitchen the other part is more in the middle of the hall.
The food is pretty good, however, the portion is a little bit small. I would recommend the burger and bangers and mash. The Mac and cheese is very rich and strong. The kid might find a little bit too much, for me it tastes really good.
There are quite a lot plug sockets for you to charge your devices.
