About This Pub
You know, chatting about The White Swan with my mates, we'd all agree it's a lovely little spot in Hoddesdon that really nails the traditional pub experience. The Sunday roasts stand out as something special – they're fresh, packed with taste, and come in portions that'll leave you stuffed and smiling, just like that review from Russell who had a relaxed afternoon there. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, making everyone feel at ease, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a meal, as Ree B mentioned with their delightful lunch. It's got that homely atmosphere that's spot on for families or groups of friends, and with events like the weekly pub quiz, there's always a bit of buzz to keep things interesting. On the downside, the hours can end earlier than you'd might like on some evenings, so if you're after a proper night out, you may need to wrap things up sooner. Prices are moderate, which is fine for the quality, but it might pinch the pocket if you're out with a larger crowd. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good food, great company, and that classic pub feel – we'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a relaxed catch-up.

The opening hours can wrap up a bit early, especially on some days, so it might not be ideal if you're hoping for a late evening.

Had a very relaxed Sunday afternoon here with good, tasty food
I had an absolutely delicious Sunday lunch at the white Swan, it was so fresh compared to other sunday lunches I've had, and what a lovely welcome I received. Thank you for a wonderful lunch I had such a good time.
Didn’t get to post my roast as I ate it lol. Was a huge portion and really delicious. My partner and I really enjoyed it. Here’s a pic of the desserts though.
Absolutely amazing! Came for Mothers day the staff went above and beyond for not only myself but my mother and grand mother. Atmosphere was lovely and suited a range from my daughter 7 through to my 90 year old grand parents. The staff were very accomodating and were really helpful even though it was mother's day and busy. The food was deliscious fresh and beautifully served. We also had a lovely little touch of a mini bottle of Prosecco and chocolates for all the mums as well. Great selection of drinks, starters, main and desserts. We have driven down from Birmingham and will definately be returning when visiting family. Thank you!
Visited today unexpectedly and decided to try their Sunday lunch and what a surprise I got. Sunday roasts at pubs are a very difficult thing for me to review as I do a very good one at home 😁 so it's very hard for a pub (who churns then out) to compete and whenever I take the risk of ordering one, I'm frequently let down, but not today. I have to say it was one of the best pub roasts I've had in a very long time. Everything came out freshly cooked. Thick slices of tender meat, beautiful roast potatoes and perfectly green greens. I even experienced a freshly cooked Yorkshire, which is very rare. To top it all off, the staff were super friendly and helpful and they also welcome dogs. This pub struggles slightly with its appearance from the outside but today, it couldn't be faulted. The dining area is tastefully decked out and they also have a large garden, which is unexpected being on the High Street. Whoever the chef was today, I suggest you hang on to them
