About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about The White Horse—it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the moment you walk in, with its rich history dating back to the 16th century and that classic old English charm that makes you feel right at home. I love how they've kept things traditional while serving up fresh, quality food that's perfect if you're in the mood for something hearty, and they've got options for veggies too, which is always a plus. The staff are an absolute treat, making you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit, and it's super handy if you're staying nearby or just passing through Heathrow. On the flip side, the airport buzz can sometimes creep in and make it a bit lively, and closing up at 11 PM might leave you wanting more time to linger. All in all, it's a gem worth seeking out for a relaxed night out, but keep in mind it might not suit if you're after something super cheap or rowdy late into the evening—honestly, it's all about that balanced, welcoming pub life.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely charming, with its historic 400-year-old vibes that make you feel like you're stepping back in time—perfect for a cosy evening by the fire.
  • The food is spot on; fresh, locally sourced dishes that are cooked daily, including some lovely vegan and vegetarian options, and it's all served with a smile.
  • Service is warm and welcoming, like chatting with old mates behind the bar who know their stuff and are happy to recommend a pint or a meal.
  • It's conveniently located near Heathrow, making it a brilliant spot for travellers, with outdoor seating and even live music to add to the fun.
  • As a family-run pub, it has that genuine, homely feel that really sets it apart from the more corporate places.
Cons
  • Being so close to the airport, it can get a bit noisy at times, which might disrupt that peaceful pub experience you're after.
  • The hours wrap up at 11 PM, which feels a tad early if you're in the mood for a late-night catch-up over drinks.
  • With a moderate price tag, it might not be the most budget-friendly option for a quick pint, especially if you're watching the pennies.

The rib eye was scrumptious and was a 5 minute walk from Thistle hotel. They had a live band performance with the outside seating area.

Great little 400 year old village pub near London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. I’ve been here twice in the last 8 months on trips through London. kitchen is open late for England and it has great food and good service.

We were visiting one night next to Heathrow on our way to Glasgow, and decided to check out the White Horse that was an easy 7 min. walk from our hotel. The atmosphere and look of the place was fantastic, and the service and other customers made us feel like one of the neighborhood regulars. Super friendly staff and absolutely delicious food and a nice selection on tap that we don't get in the States. Definitely made for a great night!

What a gem ! We were just a few minutes away from Heathrow but felt like we were in the middle of the countryside in this quaintest of pubs. It was a cold evening so it was great to be sat near a roaring fire. The staff were wonderful and very helpful with meal and drink recommendations. We loved the food and the gin and tonics were nice and strong. Visiting The White Horse was a great start to our vacation and made the usual Heathrow experience something to look forward to.

The White Horse Pub: A Hidden Gem I recently had the pleasure of visiting The White Horse Pub, and I can confidently say it’s an experience worth every moment. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, warm, and effortlessly charming—a perfect blend of traditional pub coziness and modern elegance. The food? Absolutely amazing. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, clearly prepared with fresh ingredients and an impressive attention to detail. Whether you’re a fan of hearty classics or something a bit more refined, their menu caters to all tastes. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience you’ll savor long after your plate is empty. The staff at The White Horse truly elevate the experience. They are superb—attentive, friendly, and genuinely sweet. They made us feel welcome from start to finish, ensuring every detail of our visit was perfect. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy incredible food, exceptional service, and a lovely atmosphere.
