About This Pub

Ah, The Plough – what a gem it is, tucked away near Heathrow on a quiet street. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this really inviting vibe that's just spot on for anyone popping in for a pint or a meal. The staff are absolute stars; they're friendly, hospitable, and go out of their way to make sure you're sorted, like when they swapped out a soup without a second thought – that's proper good service, isn't it? The food's a highlight too, with folks raving about the delicious options and even the coffee, though do keep in mind that not everything might be exactly as you'd expect, like that French Onion soup that didn't quite hit the mark for one person. It's inexpensive, which is great for keeping things casual, and the atmosphere is cosy with music, laughter, and options to sit inside or out, especially handy with free parking on site. Being so close to the airport, it's ideal for a quick stop to unwind, but it does wrap up by 10 PM, so it's more for an evening pint than a full night out. Overall, with a solid 4.3 rating from the crowd, it's clear this place does a lot right, but like any spot, it's not perfect – no website makes planning a bit of a faff. If you're in the area, I'd say give it a go; it's got that warm, community feel that'll leave you smiling.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in – it's like chatting with old mates behind the bar.
  • The food is spot on, with delicious options that hit the spot, especially if you're after a proper meal near Heathrow; plenty of praise for the tasty dishes and even the coffee.
  • It's got a lovely, cosy atmosphere with great vibes, whether you're sitting inside by the telly or enjoying the outdoor seating when the weather's nice.
  • Being so close to the airport makes it a brilliant spot for a quick unwind or a pint after a flight, and they've got free parking which is a real bonus.
  • The place has a clean, welcoming feel with cold beers on tap and a manager who's attentive – they'll sort you out if something's not quite right, like swapping a dish without any fuss.
Cons
  • It closes at 10 PM, which might feel a bit early if you're hoping for a late-night session after a long day.
  • No website means it's trickier to check the menu or book ahead online, so you might have to just turn up and see what's on offer.
  • One or two dishes, like the French Onion soup, might not live up to traditional expectations, though the team are quick to make it right.

So close to Heathrow Airport! Very kind staff! The food was delicious and the service was Wonderful 🤗 This pub was the perfect place to sit and unwind. Music, smiles and laughter. Sit outside or inside. Onsite Parking ( free/validated by the pub) can't wait to return and visit again from America!

Lovely local spot! Manager/owner didn't hesitate to get me a different soup when I didn't like the French Onion soup (PSA - if you like traditional onion soup, don't get it here). Not many people take pride like that or would care to do that! Went a long way. Lots of cold beer, clean atmosphere, TVs, etc... great place to have my last pub meal before heading back to the States.

A beautiful English pub near Heathrow. Great ambience, very friendly and hospitable staff and delicious food. Visited recently for dinner and had a great experience. Very cosy vibe. They have lovely outdoor seating arrangements as well but in this cold weather inside seating was best. Good coffee, the Hot Chocolate was also delicious and perfect for a cold evening. Coming to food we ordered couple of dishes; -Smoked Grilled Chicken Peri Peri : Absolutely delicious, great portions and very flavourful. 5/5 -Veggie Burger : 5/5 -Soup of the day , Chicken and Leek Soup : it was perfect for the cold evening. Delicious. 5/5 -Crispy Pork Belly : Crisp and perfectly cooked. The apple puree along with that was a perfect ac which elevated the flavours. 5/5 -Milanese de Pollo : this was great as well. The pasta was really tasty as well as the chicken. The portion was huge. Everything we tried was wonderful. They messed up with the orders but they were very polite and kind about it and they rectified their mistake. Also we were offered complimentary Bread and Olives before our meals and they had some Baklava to offer too. Had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend this place. Would definitely visit again.
