About This Pub

Ah, The White Hart – it's one of those pubs that really comes alive when Gloucester Rugby is playing, with a welcoming buzz that makes you feel part of the action right across from the Kingsholm ground. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this infectious energy on game days, packed with fans enjoying a solid range of beers and some wallet-friendly deals, all while soaking in the rugby memorabilia and catching every match on the multiple screens. The bar staff sound like a friendly bunch, adding to that homely feel, and there's plenty to do with a pool table and darts on offer for a bit of fun. On the flip side, though, it's not always hopping – weekdays can be pretty subdued, which might leave you wanting more if you're not there for the rugby. Plus, being cash-only is a bit old-school and could catch you out, and with no online presence or clear hours, it's tricky to plan ahead. Overall, it's a solid choice for those big match days, but worth keeping in mind it might not be your go-to every time – still, I'd say give it a try if you're in the area and fancy a pint with a side of sporty spirit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant, especially on rugby days – it's buzzing with energy and welcoming for both home and away fans.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of beers and drinks, with some great deals on offer.
  • Loads of screens everywhere showing all the matches you could want, plus rugby memorabilia that sparks some cracking conversations.
  • Friendly service from the bar staff makes you feel right at home, and there are fun extras like a pool table and darts to keep things lively.
Cons
  • It can be a bit quiet during the week, so if you're after a lively spot every day, you might find it a tad underwhelming.
  • They only take cash, which is a bit of a hassle in this card-heavy world – make sure you've got notes and coins with you.
  • No website or online info means it's not the easiest to check what's on or get updates, and the operating hours aren't clear.
  • Reviews have been sparse lately, with most being a few years old, so it might not be as vibrant as it once was outside of big events.

aka Teague's Bar. "The world's most rugby crazed pub, in the world's most rugby crazed city!". Can't argue with that, screens everywhere you look and every match you could think of being shown. Good deals on drinks, shooters/shots. Just bring cash, they do not take card payment!!

Im not a regular customer however, I have always enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere with the bartener/barmaid. Friendly service, pool table, darts, boxing stength game, multiple screens providing sports footage and large enough room for big group of people to be entertaining enough. As for the drinks; their averaged priced, no more than the next local sports bar. However, the White Hart offers special offers at discounted rates but these always vary.
