About This Pub

Ah, chatting about The Weighbridge Inn, it's one of those hidden gems that really hits the mark for a good pint and a natter. The real ales are a standout – they're well-maintained and come with that proper pub charm, drawing in folks who appreciate a quality brew. The team behind the bar are dead welcoming, and the overall atmosphere feels like you're catching up with old mates, which is just what you want from a local haunt. On the flip side, it's a bit compact, so on busier evenings, you might find yourself squeezed in, and the hours aren't always straightforward, meaning it could catch you out if you're planning a spontaneous visit. All things considered, it's an inexpensive option that's managed well and gets plenty of praise, making it a solid choice for anyone after a relaxed pint, though it might not suit if you're after something more spacious or predictable.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The selection of real ales is absolutely spot on – they're well-kept and served with real care, making it a treat for any ale enthusiast.
  • The staff and the crowd are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating that warm, community feel you don't always find these days.
  • It's a cosy little micro pub with a charming atmosphere, perfect for settling in for a relaxed chat over a pint.
Cons
  • The space is on the small side, which might feel a bit cramped if it gets busy, so it's not ideal for larger groups.
  • Opening hours can seem a tad inconsistent or limited, so you might want to double-check before heading out, especially on quieter days.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. We visited yesterday from Peterborough for the match and they couldn’t have been any more welcoming. It’s very refreshing to know that pubs like this still exist. The welcome from the staff and customers was second to none, some lovely ales, proper respectable conversation and a fire burning to keep everyone warm. This is a proper traditional pub!
