About This Pub

Ah, The Walsgrave Stonehouse – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Coventry, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food really steals the show; their carvery is spot on with juicy beef and fresh veg that leaves you satisfied every time, and don't even get me started on those stone-baked pizzas – they're fresh, tasty, and at such good value with all those daily deals like half-price burgers. The team there are absolute stars too, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, which is just what you want after a long day. It's super family-friendly with options for everyone, including veggies and vegans, and I love how they're involved in the community, supporting local charities and all. On the flip side, it's not perfect – sometimes you'll find yourself trekking to the bar for drinks, or there might be a shortage of certain sides like mash or gravy, and service can be a bit hit or miss if things get busy. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed meal or a catch-up with mates; I'd say give it a go, especially if you're after an affordable bite, but maybe keep expectations in check for the smoother bits.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, especially the carvery with its tender beef and top-notch veg – it's a real treat for a Sunday roast.
  • The staff are lovely and make you feel right at home; shout out to folks like Heather and Zaria who go the extra mile to ensure you're well looked after.
  • It's brilliant value for money with deals like 50% off pizzas and burgers, plus that rewards app for free meals – perfect for keeping costs down.
  • A family-friendly vibe with plenty of options for veggies and vegans, making it easy to find something for everyone.
  • They're all about supporting the local community, which is heartwarming and adds a nice touch to the overall experience.
Cons
  • Sometimes you have to head to the bar yourself for drinks, which can feel a bit inconvenient when you're trying to relax.
  • There might be the odd shortage of sides like mash or gravy, which can leave you a tad disappointed mid-meal.
  • Service can be inconsistent at times, with waits for staff or feeling overlooked, as it's not always as seamless as you'd hope.

We've been here many times over the years and today was again another enjoyable experience. We were served by heather who did an outstanding job and made us feel really welcome. The food was excellent. We all had a carvery. The beef was excellent and the veg was top class. We'll be back that's for sure

My wife and I plus family celebrated her birthday at the soft opening of your newly renovated pub. The refurbishment is exceptional, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you, Bernie, and your team, for a memorable evening.
