About This Pub
Ah, The Walnut Tree Shades – what a lovely little pub it is, tucked away in that quiet alley near the market. I've got to say, it's one of those places that just draws you in with its characterful vibe; think fantastic leather seats and a real sense of community where everyone's up for a chat. The beers are spot on, with a great range of real ales and lagers, and if you're lucky, you might catch some intimate live music that's often buzzing and full of energy – it's no wonder folks reckon it's the best for that in Norwich. The staff are an absolute treat, always ready with a smile and quick service, and the prices won't break the bank, making it ideal for a casual night out. On the flip side, it can be a bit of a challenge to locate if you're new to the area, and without an official website, sorting out the details might take a bit more effort. Still, once you're in, it's hard not to fall for its charms – a proper gem for anyone looking for a good old pub experience in Norwich.

Excellent choice of beers, great staff and good intimate live music venue. In fact best music venue in Norwich. Highly recommend
I love this pub, tucked away down a little alley just off the market area. Always friendly staff and some real characters, as in customers. Full of character and a must whenever I am in Norwich. Love the seagulls opposite 👍
We visited as a group after watching Rocky Horror Picture Show all dressed up on a Saturday night, the staff and establishment were fantastic. The atmosphere was electric and fun, the price of drinks was very reasonable. I love this pub, I've been there a few times now and have always had a great experience.
Great, slightly out the way little pub with local but cosy atmospheric feel. Impressed that the Christmas tree is up by mid November 😂
Four real ales and a good selection of lagers together with traditional bread rolls, flapjacks and packets of Haribo starmix
They were playing darts on the night I visited.
