About This Pub

Ah, The Village Pub – what a charming little find in London! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got that real community feel, like the heart of the neighbourhood where everyone knows your name. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, whether you're popping in solo or with a group, and the food is genuinely standout – I'm talking mouthwatering burgers and wings that hit the spot every time, plus a steak deal that's become a bit of a legend. Pair that with a solid range of beers and a cosy outdoor space for when the weather's on your side, and you've got yourself a proper good night out. It's got an impressive 4.3 rating overall, which isn't surprising given the rave reviews about the atmosphere and service. That said, it's not without its quirks; the place tends to shut up shop around 4 PM most days, so it's more of a daytime or early evening haunt rather than a late-night spot. And honestly, trying to check their website was a faff – it didn't load for me, which might make planning a visit a tad tricky. All in all, if you're after a relaxed pub experience with great grub and a welcoming crowd, it's well worth a visit, but do keep an eye on the clock!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think delicious burgers, wings, and even a cracking steak for two that's worth every penny.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of hand-pumped beers and lagers, perfect for a proper pint.
  • The outdoor area is lovely for a sunny day, and the board games add a fun touch for a relaxed get-together with mates.
Cons
  • It seems to close a bit early, often around 4 PM, which might cut your evening short if you're hoping for a late one.
  • We had trouble accessing the website, so it's not the easiest to check menus or events online before heading over.

Just popped in and was made so welcome as I was on my own, staying over in London. Really friendly pub with a range of hand pumped beers and lagers. Will definitely add it to my list of recommended places to visit

The Village has never felt more welcoming or well-run. Matt, Meadow, the kitchen team, and the entire staff have created something truly special here. The transformation from the previous management is remarkable — it’s now a place you genuinely look forward to visiting. Great atmosphere, fantastic food, and a team that clearly cares. Couldn’t recommend it more.

My partner and I were staying at T Barns near this pub and stopped off for dinner. It was filled with locals at 8pm on a Thursday. In a small town, this appears to be the heart of it! The food was absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend the £75 steak for two. Though at a glance this seems overly expensive, the meat cut was the best I’ve ever had (and as a steak lover myself, this is going far). It came with two hearty portions of chunky chips and fine green beans. Would 1000% recommend. The second highlight of this venue is the staff. We were greeted by a group of the most friendly people I’ve ever encountered! Each one of them came to speak with us, engaging in conversations about the food/personal recommendations, the town and its history and our own personal stories. A special shout out to Charlie, who gave us an in depth history of this pub. We loved it here and if we are ever passing by, will definitely go again.

Oh my the food, honestly some of the best wings and burgers I have had at any pub for a long while. The buffalo wings, so flavoursome with nice bite to them, but not trying to blow the back of your skull off and actual blue cheese sauce. And the burgers, we got the Ranch and Buttermilk Baby, and they were delicious, the chicken was tender and juicy, the flavours of the burgers just melt in your mouth. Really enjoyed the pub, super cute, great beer garden. The staff were real nice and there's a decent selection of beer too. Definitely will be looking to head back again soon!
