About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about Bargo – it's this hidden gem tucked away on Orford Road in Walthamstow, and I've got to say, it's become one of those places you just want to keep recommending to friends. The cocktails are a real highlight; they're expertly made by mixologists who know their stuff, bringing in flavours from around the world that make each drink feel like an adventure. Pair that with a menu of small plates that's all about fresh, organic ingredients and sharing vibes, and you've got a spot that's ideal for a casual get-together or a proper night out. The atmosphere is spot on too – stylish without being pretentious, and always welcoming, which makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the moment. But, and I have to be fair here, the prices do add up quickly; things like beers and burgers can feel a tad pricey for the size, so it's worth keeping an eye on your tab if you're not planning to splash out. Still, with such friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure you're looked after, and rave reviews about their brunch deals, I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone wanting a bit of class in their local scene. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're up for treating yourself, just go in with your eyes open on the costs.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The cocktails are absolutely spot on – they're crafted with real care and tell a story with every sip, making it a treat for anyone who loves a good drink.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely; it's stylish, welcoming, and always buzzing with good energy, perfect for catching up with mates or enjoying a relaxed evening.
  • The staff are brilliant – super friendly and attentive, which really makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Their small plates and brunch options are a delight; fresh, locally sourced ingredients come together in tasty, shareable dishes that add to the fun.
  • It's a great spot for socialising, with options like the bottomless cocktail brunch that's become a favourite in the area for just £35 for 90 minutes.
Cons
  • The prices can be a bit steep for what you get, like a burger at £18.50 plus extras, which might make you think twice if you're on a budget.
  • Portions aren't always generous, as some have noted with drinks and food, so you might end up spending more than expected to feel satisfied.
  • Not every dish hits the mark; for instance, the arancini didn't quite live up to the hype for at least one visitor, which is a shame amidst the otherwise solid menu.

A hidden gem in Walthamstow! Bargo is such a great spot - stylish, welcoming, and buzzing with good vibes. The drinks are fantastic (cocktails especially!), and the staff are super friendly and attentive. It’s perfect for a night out with friends or a casual catch-up, try their brunch dishes and don’t forget the tiramisu! A real local favourite - highly recommend checking it out!

It's a spectacular place to meet up with friends, but the prices are exaggeratedly high for quantities. Burger 18.50 + £3 per bacon Barrel Beer 6.50 Half Beer 4.5

A great little gem of a place on Orford Road in the stow village. One of the best Espresso martinis I have ever had, and pretty darn good food too. Also amazing staff, very friendly and attentive. Also the bottomless cocktail brunch is the best in Walthamstow for only £35 for 90 mins.

A beautiful surprise! Situated in the heart of Walthamstow village, it has a great atmosphere, excellent service and a mouth watering menu of small plates. Our only regret was not being able to try more dishes. Somewhere we will definitely return to. A great selection of cocktails, beers, wines and spirits. Good for a quick bite, or an evening of drinks and food. Highly recommend

Lovely place for drinks and a few nibbles. Cocktails were fab, and all the food was good -apart from the arancini that just didn't work for me!! Fab staff and they've really made a gorgeous space.
