About This Pub
You know, I had a cracking time at The View the other week, and it's one of those places that really sticks with you. Perched right on the beach, the views are just magical – imagine tucking into a hearty brunch while watching the waves crash in; it's pure bliss. The food's spot on too, with big portions and flavours that hit the mark, whether you're going for a classic English breakfast or something a bit more inventive like their veggie options. The team there are dead helpful and make you feel right at home, which is always a plus. But, let's be honest, it has its downsides – it gets packed out quicker than you can say 'pint', so booking ahead is a must to avoid hanging about. And with everything shutting by 5pm, it's more of a daytime gem rather than a late-night haunt. All in all, if you're after a relaxed spot for a bite with mates, I'd give it a go, but keep those timings in mind for the full experience.

-
It's got a lovely interior that's welcoming and cosy, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or mates.

Cons
-
It can get really busy, especially on nice days or weekends, so you'll need to book ahead to snag a table and avoid queues.
-
The opening hours are a bit limited, wrapping up by 5pm every day, which might not suit if you're after an evening out.
-
Parking might be a faff, as it's paid and can be tricky in the area, particularly if you're dropping off folks or dealing with the ramp down to the beach.

Great location, lovely interior, stunning sea view. Staff are friendly, service is quick, and food is wonderful, certainly surpassed all expectations. The vegetarian fish & chips is not only the best veggie interpretation of that meal I’ve had but has become one of my favourite meals, period. No exaggeration, I was thinking about this meal for the rest of the week, I can’t even remember the last time I felt that way, I rarely get that excited about food. One foot out the door and I was already planning my next visit. Genuinely preferred this to a lot of the more fancier, upmarket meals I’ve had which I didn’t anticipate. I guess sometimes less really is more, and it’s the simple pleasures in life. Can’t recommend enough. I like to be adventurous and try as many new places as possible but I’ll have a very hard time now going to Tynemouth and not coming here for food.
Visited for lunch in February
The view was amazing, it was so busy people were queuing for a table on a Thursday afternoon! Good job I'd booked ahead.
Sea view table, took Joby and mosh ( parents), was able to drop them off outside and also
had disabled parking and the Ramp access was really good.
Outside seats available.
They definitely needed more staff but the ones who were on duty were really lovely.
Fish and chips all round. Fish was so fresh.....and decent portions as we did get the special.
Definitely worth a visit.
What a wonderful setting, overlooking the beach. We were seated quickly and arguably at the best table in the restaurant, which we were very lucky to get, as you can't reserve window seats.
The service was very friendly and quick. The food was good-sized portions and very tasty. The wine by the bottle was reasonably priced, too. We will be back again very soon!
This is one of the most fantastic restaurants I’ve been to. I was traveling from
Canada to visit family. They brought us here for brunch. Wow, was I surprised. The views are absolutely beautiful! I couldn’t take my eyes off of the beach and ocean.
The food was perfect. I got a traditional English breakfast. It was cooked perfectly. If I ever make it back to Whitley Bay I’ll be heading here for my next meal.
As advertised. Pretty good breakfast, very nice staff and decent coffee. Seven of us for 11am Sunday brunch and they weren’t busy. Great view of the turbulent sea and coastline even on a cold wet day. Paid parking along the ramp frown to the beach. Would deffo come back.
