About This Pub
You know, I had a great time checking out High Tide in Cullercoats – it's one of those hidden gems by the sea that just feels special. From what I've seen in the reviews, folks are raving about the food; whether it's the hearty meatballs, tasty margarita pizza, or those brilliant Sunday lunches with fresh veg and massive Yorkshires, everything seems to be cooked to perfection with loads of flavour. Sitting upstairs with that amazing ocean view really adds to the experience, and the staff come across as genuinely warm and attentive, making it feel like a proper friendly spot for a meal. On the downside, it's only open a few days a week, so you have to keep an eye on the times if you're keen to pop in. Plus, without a website, it's not the easiest to get all the details sorted beforehand. All in all, if you're after a solid, enjoyable outing with great grub and a bit of scenery, I'd say give High Tide a go – it's got that balance of homely charm and quality that makes it worth the effort.

Popped in after a visit to the caves with my daughter, I had not visited this resteraunt before. We managed to get a seat upstairs, the decor is matching the vibe of the beach. You get an amazing view of the ocean from upstairs, we ordered the meatballs and margarita pizza. We did not leave a spot of food, absolutely beautiful fresh food. Service was brilliant and quick, the waitress was very friendly. I tipped her £5.00 and told them I would definitely be recommending on my socials. I very rarely give 5 stars, but I couldn't fault a single thing from this place. Highly recommended, get yourselves into this resteraunt.
walked in for Sunday Lunch yesterday, not booked. What a treat the service and food were brilliant. From 2 proud Yorkshire tykes, the chief was defiantly channelling their in tyke the Yorkshire Puddings were enormous and so full of flavour. Will definitely recommend the restaurant.
Lovely warm welcome to High Tide, friendly owners and staff. On arrival it’s a must cocktails
upstairs with lovely sea views. Service is excellent in the restaurant, beautiful food and vegetables cooked to perfection.

We have lived in Cullercoats for years and have no idea how we managed to miss coming to High Tide until this evening. The food was simply delicious! Every dish has distinct and complex flavours. We had a variety of the small plates. My husband wanted the chorizo with honey which I said sounded like something we could cook at home. This turned out to be my favourite dish! Chorizo done over an open coal - just spectacular. The homemade tomato chilli jam under the salt and chili prawns was almost as good as the prawns itself.
My husband's favourite was the gochujang chicken. Apparently (if I remember correctly) the Chef's partner is Korean and they make their own sauce. This, and the slow cooked beef curry had sufficient spice (even for us who lived in Asia for years). There was good wine, beer, and cocktails.
The menu is designed to cater very well for many tastes, so had our young daughter been with us she could have chosen from the array of delicious looking pizza and pasta dishes. We thought the whole meal was great value and will definitely be back.
You can go in just for drinks upstairs and it has an amazing view across Cullercoats Bay towards Tynemouth.
Great work Jo and Nathan!
Had a very, very good Sunday lunch at home today. Both the pork and beef roasts were excellent. Alongside beautiful fresh veg and awesome Yorkshire puddings.
A real lazy Sunday treat to takeaway. Brilliant and thank you.
