About This Pub
Ah, The Turf Hotel – what a gem it is, tucked right next to the historic Racecourse Ground in Wrexham. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails that cosy, welcoming vibe that's hard to beat; imagine walking in and instantly feeling at home with friendly faces and a chatty bar team who's always ready for a laugh. It's especially brilliant for footie lovers, with all the Wrexham AFC pride on display and screens showing the big games, plus live music events that get everyone in the mood for a singalong. The prices are spot on for a casual night out, and it's clear the locals love it, with high marks for its nostalgic charm and community ties. On the flip side, though, it's a shame about the food situation – that butty van isn't always around, particularly on Sundays, so you might end up just sticking to drinks if you're after a bite. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening; I'd say give it a go if you're in Wrexham, but maybe check ahead to avoid any quiet spells. It's got that heartwarming Welsh touch that makes you want to come back for more.

Great value for money with affordable drinks, and they've got live music and events that keep things lively without being overwhelming.
-
It's a nostalgic gem for tourists and locals alike, with plenty of nods to the town's history and even some celebrity vibes from famous visitors.
Cons
-
Food options can be a bit hit or miss, like the butty van not operating on Sundays, so you might need to plan ahead for a proper meal.
-
It seems like the place might have occasional closures or quieter times, which could disappoint if you're popping in on an off day.

Our Great Britain trip wouldn't have been complete with a trip to The Turf Hotel to see what it's all about! After watching Welcome to Wrexham over the past few years, we felt we knew the people. Our time in Wrexham and lunch at The Turf was a highlight of our trip! We surely hope to be back. 🙌
The iconic Turf pub, next to the home of Wrexham football ⚽ Welcoming atmosphere and great value. Ritchie was a gent behind the bar, great to have a chat with.
The Turf is THE place to go to get a pint, celebrate Wrexham AFC, and learn about Wrexham history from locals. The owner, Wayne Jones, was also very nice to take a moment with us during a high volume time. When you're in Wrexham, be sure to stop by The Turf!
Super friendly and welcoming stuff and people. Obviously a lot of Deadpool and Wrexham stuff on the walls and behind the bar. This is just a very very cool pub to have a beer on a Saturday match day. More than recommended! And of course you can pay by card.
Very Friendly Locals, Very Nostalgic place for us tourists. Great place for a pint, watch the football on TV and play Pool on the tables.
Unfortunately Sundays the food Van doesn't operate.
