About This Pub

Oh, Plas Coch in Wrexham is one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local spot, you know? I've heard from folks that it's brilliant for gathering with the family or nipping in for a casual lunch – the big beer garden is a real highlight, especially when the weather's playing ball, and they've got this welcoming vibe with kids and dogs in tow. The staff are absolute stars; stories of Ethan and Zara going above and beyond really stick out, making even the busiest days manageable with their cheerful service. Plus, those deals like 30% off mains are a nice touch for keeping things affordable. On the flip side, though, it does get packed to the gills sometimes, which means you're in for a wait that might kill the mood, and a few people have mentioned food that's not quite up to scratch – think dodgy pizzas or meals that don't live up to expectations, along with the odd hygiene worry that'd make anyone think twice. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed pint and a bite, but it's worth popping in when it's not too hectic to get the best of it; just keep your expectations balanced and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer garden is an absolute gem, perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold drink and some tasty food – it's spacious and makes for a lovely outdoor experience.
  • Staff like Ethan and Zara really shine; they're friendly, attentive, and handle busy times with a smile, making you feel right at home.
  • It's super family-friendly with plenty of room for kids, a pizza kitchen, and even events that bring everyone together – ideal for a relaxed family outing.
  • They've got cracking offers like 30% off mains, which is a brilliant way to enjoy pub classics without breaking the bank.
  • Being dog-friendly means you can bring your furry mate along for a pint and some grub, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
Cons
  • It can get incredibly busy, leading to long waits for food and drinks, which might put a dampener on spontaneous visits.
  • Food quality varies – some dishes fall short, like overcooked items or not quite hitting the mark, and there have been a few hygiene slip-ups that are a bit off-putting.
  • Certain things might run out, especially on Sundays when the roasts go quick, leaving you disappointed if you're after a traditional meal.
  • Drinks service isn't always spot on; for instance, tea pots might not be full, or popular options like Guinness could be unavailable.
  • The overall experience can feel a tad inconsistent, with some visits being fantastic and others just average, depending on the day.

Lovely meal with family. Two staff stood out Ethan and Zara. It was extremely busy when we arrived and had a bit of a wait for food but that's understandable when so busy. Ethan and Zara were excellent at making sure everyone was happy with their food and drink and were amazing at handling awkward customers. Well done. Will be returning.

Fantastic experience even on a super busy day, with the sun scorching. Some guests were complaining over nothing, but the staff stayed calm and professional. Zara and Ethan were amazing — friendly, attentive, and handled everything brilliantly. Food was delicious and came out quickly. Will definitely be back!

Was pleasent enough experience on hot sunny day. Long queues as expected however the staff were chatty, friendly. The food wasn't the best and expected more quality for the price. When the chef did the pizza he sneezed and then went into the back not knowing if he washed his hands also there were things missing on the pizza toppings. All the rest of food (hotdog, ice cream and cookie bronwie tart) were good. Chocolate fudge cake was supposed to be hot but was barely warm and didn't taste right. Would come again if prices matched quality of food

Come here today at 3pm and was told Sunday dinner's had run out! It's 3 pm on a sunday afternoon and no Sunday dinner's?? Very poor in my opinion. Waiting time was bad as waited 50 mins before food arrived, we had 2 drinks each before meal came. No Guinness available. Ordered steak and it was the worst steak I've ever had, it was awfully chewy. Garlic bread was burnt and had a southern fried chicken burger which was meant to come with chicken gravy but came with beef gravy, service was slow and it was not even busy. Very disappointed and won't be returning in the near future.

Two meals, out of three, bun toasted or under lamp to long sausage was'nt great. Not a great steak either, tasty mushrooms First round of drinks, tea pots were just 1/2 full of hot water, not even cup and 1/2
