About This Pub

Ah, the Premier Inn in Wrexham City Centre – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate, tucked away conveniently by the train station and local hotspots, making it perfect if you're in for a game at the stadium or just nipping in for a bite. I love how the rooms are kept clean and come with all the basics sorted, like that refreshing air con and free Wi-Fi, plus the staff are always chipping in with helpful advice, which really makes you feel at home. On the flip side, though, the parking fees can sting a bit, and from what I've heard from others, breakfast might not hit the mark if it's not piping hot, and some rooms could do with a freshen-up to sort out any musty smells or wear and tear. All in all, it's a decent choice for a straightforward night away or a casual meal, but it'd be even better if they ironed out those little annoyances – still, I'd say give it a go if you're passing through, as the good bits often outweigh the bad for a quick getaway.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The location is spot on, right in the heart of Wrexham next to the train station, Glyndwr University, and the Racecourse Stadium – makes it dead easy to pop in for a drink or meal after exploring the area.
  • Rooms are clean and modern with handy touches like air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a powerful shower, so you can freshen up nicely after a long day.
  • The staff are really welcoming and helpful, always ready with a smile and tips like discount codes for parking, which adds a nice personal touch.
  • It's got that reliable Premier Inn vibe, where you know what you're getting, and they've got options for families or those needing accessible rooms, which is thoughtful.
Cons
  • Parking can be a right pain – it's chargeable and a bit pricey at £7 for 24 hours, which might put a dampener on your visit if you're driving in.
  • Breakfast has had some mixed feedback; it can be disappointing if it's cold or not up to scratch, even if you get there early.
  • Some rooms are starting to show their age, with worn beds, odd smells, or even mould in the bathroom, which isn't ideal for a comfortable stay.
  • The restaurant area is on the small side and gets busy quickly, so you might need to book ahead or end up waiting around for a table.

Handy location in the centre of Wrexham right by General Station. The rooms are clean and modern with air conditioning. Marked down because of expensive car parking and really poor breakfast. I went in immediately on opening and all the stuff was basically cold.

I stayed at this premier inn last weekend with my new partner, Ibrahim who came down from London where he lives to Wrexham so that we could meet up and spend some time together in my home town. My Dad dropped me off at the premier inn, reunited me with Ibrahim in the bar/restaurant area, and we had an absolutely amazing weekend together. We stayed there for three nights from the 30th May until 2nd of this month. The location of the premier inn is ideal for me as it’s just a five minute drive away from home, and it’s right by Wrexham general train station, so Ibrahim was easily able to get a taxi there from the train station. We are both completely blind from birth, and when Ibrahim phoned the premier inn to let them know, they allocated us a family room which was very spacious, clean, comfortable and luxury with air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities provided. We both had an incredible sense of independents and freedom during our weekend together, as we were able to find our way to the stairs and the elevator and find our way independently into the bar and restaurant area and pretty much everywhere else we wanted to go, as Ibrahim arrived at the premier inn before me, and one of the staff gave him a little tour around the hotel. We both find that the premier inn has a very easy layout, and is fully accessible for blind and visually impaired people. We guided each other around the premier inn, and we are both white cane users who also take full advantage of assistive tech such as using indoor and outdoor navigation apps for the blind on our smartphones. All of the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming, ensuring that we had everything we needed, and they ensured that we had an absolutely incredible stay. They offered us sighted assistance whenever we got a bit turned around, and guided us to a table every time we ate in the bar/restaurant area. In the evenings, they provide table service, and the bar staff were always on hand to help when we were ordering drinks. There is also free tea and coffee served in the bar between meals, and all of the drinks served in the evenings are bottles of soft and alcoholic beverages. We booked breakfast in advance. You can choose between continental or full English or both! 😋😋 All of the food was absolutely outstanding and very filling and satisfying. Also, during the breakfast buffet, every time we came down to breakfast, a member of staff would guide us to a table, and they would give us assistance by providing table service, as we can’t see to go up to the buffet and get our food and drinks by ourselves. We both really appreciate that, and the fact that all of the staff were very helpful and accommodating at all times, whilst still maintaining our independents skills that we both have and they always asked us what we needed assistance with. It feels so good to me, and it’s an absolutely massive achievement for me to be out with my partner and both of us are independent and we’re not reliant on my family at all. This is also my first time staying at this premier inn, and the same for Ibrahim. Usually when I’ve stayed at premier inns before, I’m with my family and I’m completely reliant on them to get around the hotel and get around the breakfast buffet. We’ve always had a great time, however, it feels so good and means so much to Ibrahim and I that we can have some independents and get support when we need it, and we’re on our own as well, only reliant on a family member to pick us up from the premier inn at the end of our stay. Finally, I just want to thank everyone at the premier inn for making our stay so awesome and memorable. We hope to come back again soon. Love from Marla and Ibrahim. Xxx. 💞

Great location right next to Wrexham General station. Really great staff, warm welcome, great meals and breakfast was delicious. However, rooms smell "off", beds worn, mould in bathroom see pictures. Great for one off night.

I love Premier Inn because you know what to expect when you get there. There are, however, people that make your stay that little bit better. We stayed as we were watching Wrexham at the stadium. We got there early and could park in carpark as we were staying there. It is worth checking in with reception, as they can give you a discount code if you are staying there. There will be a charge for parking to deter people from using the carpark on match days. You are so close to the ground and the train station. Staggering distance of the turf. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast was lovely.....hot but not overcooked. A great stay!

This hotel is around 10 years old and is starting to show its age in places. Restaurant is small and can be busy so make sure you book a table. Discount codes for the parking meter can be obtained from reception upon check-in.
