About This Pub
Ah, The Three Barrels in Urmston – it's one of those hidden gems that makes you wish you'd discovered it sooner. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this really inviting atmosphere where you can kick back and have a proper chat without the usual pub racket, which is brilliant if you're after a more chilled-out night. The staff often get a thumbs-up for being friendly and accommodating, like when they happily swap a drink if it's not quite hitting the spot, and there's a nice beer garden that adds to the appeal on sunnier days. Plus, they sometimes go the extra mile with things like a free buffet during big events, which is a lovely touch. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about staff attitudes – some folks have mentioned getting a bit of a brush-off when asking for certain drinks, and the prices can sting a little, especially for what you get. It's also a compact space, so it might feel a bit squished if it gets busy. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed drink in Manchester, but I'd say it's best for those times when you want something low-key rather than a wild night out – just keep expectations realistic and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros

The atmosphere is spot on for a relaxed catch-up; you can actually chat without shouting over blaring music, which is a real treat.
-
The staff are generally welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a lovely little beer garden that's perfect for enjoying a drink outdoors on a nice day.
-
Customer service shines through in little ways, like swapping drinks if you're not keen on what you've ordered.
-
It's a cosy spot with a great vibe, especially during events like football matches where they might even throw in a free buffet.
Cons
-
Some staff can come across a bit abrupt or unhelpful, like when they dismiss certain drink requests with an attitude.
-
Drinks can feel a tad overpriced, such as shelling out £10 for a small wine and a pint – ouch, that adds up!
-
Options are a bit limited; they might not have everything on offer, like specific mixers or advertised drinks that aren't actually available.
-
The place is on the small side, which can make it feel cramped during busier times.

Wish I had known of this place earlier. Whilst I don't drink alcohol, the ambience and service are relaxing, and importantly, you can have conversations without having to shout over loud music.
Went in Saturday night and my wife tried to order a cheeky vimto that was advertised on the chalk board. The Lady behind the bar said can't make that and no one orders it anyway with an attitude in her voice. Wow only asking!. So we ordered a small rose and a pint of larger for £10!wow we are not in The city centre Three Barrels!!

Will go again! Popped in for a quick drink as we'd missed the train into Manchester but could have stayed all night! Such a welcome by the really friendly barman and a nice atmosphere, thanks!
First time visit and Impressed with this bar, very clean , friendly, music was really good. We got cocktails from the specials board, my friend wasn't keen on her drink but happily swapped it to another. Which was great customer service, we'd definitely come back. Lovely little beer garden at the back, front opens right up onto the Street which made it nice and cool.
Visited recently while the football was on. Despite being small it is a very lovely pub with a great atmosphere! Some drinks are fairly priced but they should get coke and lemonade on tap so you don't have to spend so much for a small can of mixer.
After the England game, they put on a free buffet which I thought was a great touch!
