About This Pub

Ah, Mulino – it's one of those places that just warms you up with its authentic Italian flair, tucked away in Urmston. From what folks are saying, the food is a real standout; imagine tucking into an excellent pizza with that professional dough, or prawns cooked to perfection with a zingy lemon and chilli sauce that pairs brilliantly. The service gets a big thumbs up too – the team are courteous and on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly, which is perfect if you're popping in for a family do or a catch-up with mates. It's got that family-friendly feel, with huge desserts that leave you smiling, and it's clear why it's racking up such glowing feedback. But let's keep it real; there might be the occasional slip, like an unwanted ingredient sneaking into your dish, or those stairs at the entrance that could be a faff if you're not up for carrying things around. Still, with its moderate prices and consistent quality, it's a solid pick for anyone craving Italian in Manchester – just plan ahead if accessibility is a concern, and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – think top-notch Italian dishes like pizzas with professional dough, succulent prawns, and stunning spaghetti carbonara that really hit the spot.
  • Service is spot on; the staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home, which is great for family meals or group gatherings.
  • It's a welcoming spot for families, with plenty of positive vibes for celebrations, and the portions are generous, especially the desserts.
  • Overall, it's got a high rating and loads of rave reviews, making it a reliable choice for a solid Italian meal in Urmston.
Cons
  • There can be the odd mix-up with orders, like getting honey on your pizza when you didn't ask for it, which might throw off the flavours a bit.
  • Accessibility is a bit of a challenge with stairs at the entrance, so it might not be the easiest if you're with a pram or have mobility concerns.
  • From what I've seen, it's not always perfect in terms of getting everything served together or avoiding minor niggles, even if the food is generally excellent.

My pizza was excellent, professional biga dough although i did ask for it without honey i still got honey, luckily came with jalapenos to take some of the sweetness out. Prawns were the best I’ve ever had, excellently cooked and great lemon and chilli sauce. Really went together well. Crab was excellent though. The chicken was a bit dry though, a bit overcooked. The atmosphere was a bit loud but we had young girls having a bit of a good time in the corner being a bit too much that were politely encouraged to leave. Once they did the atmosphere was great. This place is popular because it is good.

WOW, WOW, WOW! I always find Italian Restaurants can be a bit hit and miss so I was expecting the usual ‘ok’ restaurant. Boy was I wrong! This Restaurant was exceptional! Let’s start with the arrival, we were greeted with a happy smiling waitress that found us good table in the extended part of the restaurant. The restaurant itself was spotless clean and the customers were people who dressed smart showing the restaurant attracts high end clientele. The server was extremely polite and jovial which adds to the excellent atmosphere. We were given 3 menus that included a lunchtime menu, a ‘specials menu’ and the normal menu. This was obviously a large menu but had an excellent choice of meals. I started with a garlic bread with cheese which was a generous sized 12” pizza base with buffalo mozzarella cheese and garlic oil. It was delicious and made with quality ingredients. For the main course I ordered a seafood spaghetti and it was exceptional and more. The spaghetti was full of delicious seafood in a felicitous tomato sauce and the portion size was massive, so big that I wasn’t able to finish it. I’d probably say it was without doubt the most delicious seafood spaghetti I’ve eaten from a English Italian Restaurant, definitely a 10 out of 10. Not even Gordon Ramsay could have made a better spaghetti…..it was that good. Overall, a welcoming restaurant with great staff who are polite, happy, helpful and humble, a very clean restaurant with a very talented chef that serves exceptional food as good as or even better than top restaurants in Italy!

Came here tonight with the family to celebrate our nephews 16th birthday. The restaurant was able to accommodate 12 people. The service was excellent. The staff were courteous and accommodating. Food was served all together and it was served at the right temperature. The only small thing was that we waited a while after the starters for the main but the staff explained and apologised. Despite this everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and wine. It was my first time there and I will definitely be going again!

First time eating in Urmston and someone recommended this place as it’s family friendly and we have twins. We LOVED it so much!! Can’t wait to go back and the food was fabulous. The desserts were huge 😍 the only issue was with the entrance, we had to carry the double stroller up a few stairs as there was no ramp but the waiter was helpful enough with this.
