About This Pub

You know, when I think about The Auld Chimp, it's got this warm, inviting charm that's hard to resist, tucked away near Urmston station. The beers are spot on – that Guinness and Murphy's flow like a dream, and the live music really lifts the spirits, making it a brilliant spot for a laugh with friends. From what folks are saying, it's already become a favourite in the area, with a friendly buzz that keeps things lively. On the flip side, if you're popping in for a meal, you might end up waiting longer than you'd hope, even on quieter days, and the dishes could do with a few more trimmings to make them feel complete. All in all, it's a solid choice for drinks and good times, but I'd say hold off on expecting a full dining experience just yet – still, it's one to keep an eye on as it settles in.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • Fantastic selection of beers like Guinness and Murphy's on tap – they're poured just right and always a hit.
  • Lively atmosphere with live music that really gets everyone in the mood for a great night out.
  • Friendly and welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home, perfect for catching up with mates.
  • The new outside area is a lovely spot for a drink, especially on a nice evening.
Cons
  • Wait times for food can be a bit frustrating, like waiting 45 minutes when it's not even busy.
  • Food portions might feel a tad lacking, such as the Irish stew missing some extras like red cabbage or beetroot.
  • Food options are limited right now as the kitchen isn't fully up and running yet.

4 of us Went today and I had the Irish stew which was lovely but could have done with either a portion of red cabbage or beetroot , waited 45 minutes for food to come and pub was not busy , but it’s worth a visit and the new outside area is really nice 👍

What a fantastic addition to Urmston. Its only been a week since its opened its doors, but you can tell that this venue is going to be a massive success. Great entertainment, 10/10 for the Guinness & Murphy's. No food at present, but have read that once the kitchen is up & running, food will be served. Great atmosphere, with a warm friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back on a regular basis.
