About This Pub

Ah, The Talbot – it's one of those pubs in Blackpool that really pulls you in with its promise of cheap thrills and a good time without breaking the bank. I have to say, the prices are spot on; grabbing a pint or a meal for peanuts makes it an absolute winner for a casual catch-up with friends. The entertainment side of things is where it shines too – think pool, snooker, and a lineup of events like live music or comedy that keep the energy high and the laughs coming. Plus, that free function room is a real bonus if you're planning a do; it's spacious and sorted with sound and lighting, holding up to 200 people, which is dead handy. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of the food not quite hitting the mark, with some saying it tastes bland or worse, and there are gripes about the staff or facilities not being up to snuff, like indoor vaping or messy toilets. It's a shame because the overall vibe is meant to be welcoming, but those niggles could spoil the fun if you're not lucky. All in all, if you're after budget-friendly banter and games, give it a go, but maybe keep expectations in check and head elsewhere if you're after top-notch grub or flawless service – it's about weighing up the good times against the rough patches, really.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks and food are incredibly affordable – you can get a full English breakfast or a roast dinner for just £3, which is brilliant for keeping things light on the wallet while still enjoying a proper meal.
  • There's loads of entertainment on offer, like pool tables, snooker, darts, and regular events such as comedy nights and live music, making it a lively spot for a fun night out.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and buzzing, with friendly bar staff and a great vibe, especially if you're up for some games or catching up with mates.
  • They've got free function room hire, which is a gem for parties or events – perfect for birthdays or get-togethers without the extra cost.
  • Overall, it's got a solid reputation with a high rating, so you can expect good times and value for money in the heart of Blackpool.
Cons
  • Some folks have had dodgy experiences with the food, like it tasting off or not up to scratch, which could put a dampener on your visit.
  • There are complaints about the staff not always being on top form, and a few mentions of issues like unclean facilities, which might make you think twice.
  • Certain things, such as people vaping indoors, have annoyed some visitors, and not every day has entertainment lined up, so it might feel a bit quiet at times.
  • The recent reviews show a dip in satisfaction, with an average around 3.3 out of 5, suggesting it might not always live up to the hype.

this place is well gud, not like them woke LGTV pubs lol 🤣 no pronouns on the menu or nonsense. Love it here coz they don’t serve that muck like CURRY (can't even say that word now without gettin arrested 😡 PC!) – just proper British food like tikka masala 🇬🇧🔥. ... Deffo coming back when me Universal Credit hits 💷💷💷💷

Cheap drinks, for example 2 Madri for £6.00 but this offer may change. Good selection of snooker and pool tables. One thing I didn't like was people vaping indoors.

I visited on a Tuesday evening which is not the time to see the Talbot at its best as there wasn't any entertainment on that day. They were playing hit music from the 60s and 70s. The prices for drinks were reasonable. They also have a kitchen so hot food is available. I only stayed for one drink so didn't have time for any. They do three sizes of full English breakfast with prices ranging from £2 for the smallest to £3.50 for largest which has to be the cheapest in Blackpool and their Sunday dinner is also very cheap so I'll have to come back and try them. This is a great pub for snooker and pool fans as they have multiple tables.
